I was going to grab you a sample but I figured i would try something first. I re-installed MP and the codec pack and now the files play. But there's a new issue - the audio goes horribly out of sync within the first minute or two. Same file playback in WMP11 on the same computer works just fine.

Hello.
If your MOV video is standart HD video, rename MOV to MKV or MP4.
If your MOV is special Quicktime audio/video container, i cannot help you, this is Apple Quicktime problem...

I thought wmp11 uses it's own codecs. You'd want to test the file in mpc and compare your graphs between mpc and mp, using graphstudio. Or like hoborg mentioned, create a sample with mkvmergegui and post it for us to look at.

Can anyone please explain how to determine if DXVA is actually on or off?

The PDVD Codec appears in MP config in TV, Movies and DVD config screens, but not in DirectShow Filter Control screen. Anyone know how to make settings changes to PDVD8 codec under SAF if it doesn't appear in MP Config?

Hi,
I have an Panasonic camcorder HDC-DX1 it records in some *.m2ts files which have AVCHD in them. I think its basically mpe4 stream. The Halli splitter work's fine, but the playback on my machine is a bit slow, or shall I say slowed. It looks like its being played at 20fps and sound goes normally at 30fps.
I have an AMDx2 4000 and normal other to accompany it.
Just to make clear other H264 1080p, HD mkvs, HD etc, are working perfectly, with about 40-50% of CPU usage...
If any1 needs i can post samples if needed... (somewhere, please advise where cause these file are big, smallest are 20MB!)

Thanks and regards!

PDVD Codec - that is question to MP team, why they disable it.

BTW - what do you want to change?

Thanks hoborg, but perhaps I didn't make myself clear. If you install PDVD Trial, then when you run MP Config, you get some configuration options under DirectShow Fileter Control - PowerDVD 8 Decoder Settings. Here is where you usually enable/disable hardware decoding.

When installed usinf SAF, this option window is not revealed in MP config.

I guess I just wanted the peace of mind knowing there was a checkbox somewhere with Hardware Acceleration ticked...

As i know, PowerDVD 8 is disabled in MP configuration for some time now - that is reason why it is not here.
I can use trick to enable it (simply rename PDVD8 to PDVD7 i registry), but i think it will start question type - "hey, i have PDVD8 installed, but MP tells me it is PDVD7 - WTF!" ...
And SAF is using DXVA automaticly if you install PDVD Mpeg2 decoder - read firts tape again :)

Hello.
SAF is designed directly for MP.
