I just tried out the MPC subtitles engine mod and all the subtitles now work fine with DXVA. Anyone whos facing subtitle troubles should give it a shot.

I seem to be facing another problem, any .mkv that I play which are 1920x10** gives me very high cpu usage and brings the video/audio out of sync, with or without subtitles. CPU usage hovers around 70-90%. My CPU is a AMD Athlon 5000x2, could it be the bottleneck in this case?

Any other mkv thats 1920 x <1000 plays perfectly fine with <10% cpu usage.

Graph looks fine to me. All the required decoders are doing their job. I am on SAF 3.41.

Appreciate any input.

From what i have seen, is that MPA gives stuttering on SPDIF DTS output, with DXVA enabled so cpu is not the problem. ffdshow or ac3 filter gives correct output. Does MPA encode wmv-hd audio to 5.1?
Besides all this i am using Reclock as audio renderer and for that also AC3Filter is needed. Maybe it is possible to include Reclock into the SAF package?

I've got the same problem with MPA.

But SAF + SPDifer or AC3Filter works great for me.

Sample as requested,

sample1.mkv

Thank you.

I tried the sample last night but it was horribly choppy, probably due to loading subtitles. I ran out of time though and didn't get a chance to look at it further. Have you tried the file without subs in it?

Same thing without the subs, I get out of sync video/audio with bad jitters.

I have tried this mkv on another setup running on MP + FFDShow tryouts and the video/audio sync is much better (still a little out of sync) with little or no jitters.

What CPU do you have? Please cpecify your system specs in CP.

Just added my system info into my profile.

I have a AMD Athlon 5000x2 with a Asus 780G board.

Try to start problematic video and check CPU usage. If usage is around 90%, audio/video desync it possible.

Just ran the video and the highest CPU usuage recorded was 84%. It usually hovers around 50% - 75%, only hits the 80s when it spikes.

Could it be the CPU bottleneck?
