I have only these decoders on my Vista HTPC, and I can litterly play everything, with or without hardware accelleration (BTW, DXVA is not allways better.. in the past I used the x1250, on which DXVA was worse then using the CPU, certainly with HD material.. who cares if the load is 60 or 70% if the output is brilliant, why not!).. ok what I use:
Sorry but most of us here don't have cpu's fast enough to run 1080p video at 70% cpu without problems. How about a p4 3ghz? That's why alot of us use SAF, to get dxva running on older hardware.![]()
See my specs, Intel duo core E6600 is allmost three years old... in PC terms that is considered ancient history allready
Note that to get the full advantage of a duo or even quad core processor you MUST have Windows Vista to get the multi threading feature, with XP the two cores are considered as two seperate CPU's and then for each application you can use just one core at a time.
