How do you config this to use hdmi output(decode ac3/dts to stereo) and spdif(just sent it to decoder)?
If it's possible to have ac3filter do it, because it the best there is.

Again, SAF - fresh install, following the guide to SAF and doing nothing out of the ordinary on the install, I ran into the same problem after I had watched one MKV movie (with no problems), then after watching another I had to pause the movie (the first that worked was never paused), the second movie had the audio/video out of sync again.

I'm not sure what's causing the sync issues with the SAF installs at this point. Everything else works wonderful, just the issues with audio being out of sync with the video.

Previously I had been using FFDSHOW for my processing and never had issues. If anyone has any info or suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.

Thanks!

PS. Vista x64, SAF (installed as instructed in the 1st page of thread), 8800 GTX video to 1080p plasma via HDMI.

What is your CPU usage during playback? Is DXVA being properly utilized?

CPU Usage is minimal, one of the first things I looked at.

How can I tell on the DXVA?

I'm willing to do whatever I can to resolve this.

Processor is an AMD FX60, 4gb ram, raid 5 array for the system running triple 10K RPM Raptors.

Well done Hoborg - I had been struggling with codecs for an age with no real resolution, however, a completely fresh install and your instructions has been spot on. Brilliant.

Always a but thought - I note that your 1st post raises that there might be an issue with HD TV and .ts files (not got to that part of my config yet!) - would that mean it makes sense to install ffdshow as well to set on the codecs on the TV settings?

    Thanks

    Hi and thanks.

More info about h.264 TV here: 0002069: TsReader is not working properly with some H264 codecs - MediaPortal Bugtracker

    Should be fixed in 1.1.0...

Using SAF 3.47 i had a weird issue with my volume (vista x32).

I was always using ac3filter & coreavc, witch worked fine. When switching to SAF i noticed that my volume control did not work anymore. Couldn't set volume with my remote, and had no volumebar on my soundgraph vfd. Tried, with a keyboard, to set volume ( + and - keys) also had no effect. Solution was to unregister mpaDecFilter.ax and reinstall ac3filter. Now everything works again, volumebar on VFD, remote buttons etc.

? That something i do not understand. Volume are controled by windows settings, not related to filters...

Can be configured in MP settings - General->Volume Settings

yeah i though so too, but the settings with ac3filter are the same as with mpadecfilter (also tried different settings). It's very weird... Used monogram to check the filters in use, they all check out (haali, mpc to evr, mpa to audio device, nothing more). Can't explain it.
Either way, i now use ac3filter, monogram looks nice, and have dxva decoding.
