Hmmm, tried to play the mp4 and got the error message. I'm trying to play it through the tvseries plugin.

Hi,

I have some issues with the sound on Discovery Channel using the MPA decoder, that is, I get no sound. However, there is no problem with the sound on other channels (e.g SVT1/2, TV3, TV4 on Swedish Boxer (DVB-T)).

I have tried with the Nvidia Audio decoder and AC3 filter and the sound is ok on Discovery, the conclusion is that somehow MPA decoder is not fully compatible with Discovery Channel.

Any ideas how to get Discovery working with MPA as well? Can I provide some logs or perhaps a sample recording?

I'm still on MP 1.0 and using SAF 3.30.

Looking at AC3Filter, Discovery is using MPEG Audio 1/0 (mono) 48000Hz and the other channels are using MPEG Audio 2/0 (stereo) 48000Hz

This is a known problem whit this channels on Boxer...
it is because they are sending the audio in a bad mono quality.
you have to yous ffdshow tryouts, or something for the audio and yous the libavcodec for mp1/2 decoding...
then the audio works joust fine.
you can even reprocess it to stereo or AC3 if you'd like...

I almost suspected that it was something related to the mono MPEG audio stream. I got working with other codecs. If this is a known problem then there might be a chance that the MPA codec could be updated or?

Just downloaded PowerDVD9.1719a(BDTrial)__DVD090629-07, but i can't find _A2999B32CFD14E0385CC0CC8DB803CB4 in the archive. Is this another/newer/older version that i found? I just downloaded it, like 5 min ago...

it's one of the ~1MB files. There is like 12 or 15 of them. I tried all of them one by one until I found the one registering as Cyberlink Video Decoder (or very similar). You have to rename the file to something.dll first and then do regsvr32 something.dll (regsvr32 /u something.dll to unregister)

Hardware decoding ? CPU % ?

I installed SAF according to instructions. Installation OK.
All is working as promised and wanted.
BUT ...
using this in MP means much more CPU for a HD mkv-file compared to running external player MPC homecinema.
Now more than 50 % CPU and up to 80. With MPC - C it's only 5 - 20 % CPU

I've marked Hardware decoding in PowerDVD settings.

I have an ATI HD 3850 graphic card, latest drivers.

Any more settings to have real Hardware decoding with low CPU use ?

CLVsd.ax extraction updated, added MPEG2 decoder comparsion.

Can anybody with BluRay and PDVD9 try to install combination of "unlocked" SAF 3.49beta + PowerDVD9 and test if H.264 TV, BlueRay and MPEG2 TV works?

It should be installed PDVD9 first then SAF 3.49beta.

I think, it should works, but no way how to try it (no HDTV and BR drive here).

I've been reading and testing a little bit more.
Seems to be the old problem with Subtitles and DXVA ( Haali ? ).
When unchecking Subtitles for Video it used DXVA = low CPU %
( I thought it was solved with SAF )

But since I need/want subtitles I guess I have to go back to use MPC-C as external player. There it works with subtitles and DXVA in h.264

Or is there any solution with SAF for subtitles, h.264 and DXVA in MP ?

All you need is to use MP 1.1 Alpha with integrated MPC-HC subtitles engine.

All you need is to use MP 1.1 Alpha with integrated MPC-HC subtitles engine.

Think I'l wait until Upgrade support for MP 1.1. Just now a complete reinstall of everything don't seems so interesting.
Or is 1.1 Alpha soo much better than 1.02 ?
