try installing and updating win7 using a VGA Cable connection to your monitor. I have been trying to install win7 since it was relaced, until a couple of days ago i finally google-searched my way to someone who had the answer. Apparently it was a problem with the built in gfx driver, that made the installation crash when using dvi or hdmi until "real" drivers were installed.
it may not be te same problem at all, but maybe it will help.

that being said, first time user of saf myself and only one problem so far: I can´t play HDTV. Not live/recorded tv and not when i import mt HDTV recordings to ie. movingpictures.

how can I produce a logfile?

Now my test Win7 x64 seems to run stable, no BSOD any longer.
...and did you *unlock* SAF?

BTW, MP video playback is very bad, becouse of MP+Haali spliter problems, so runing MP on Win7 is not recomended by me (use old good&stable WinXP instead), until problem will be fixed (that part is on MP team to found solution).
Next SAF version will bring better support for Win7 and x64 OS, but definitly not fix MP+Haali problem.

SAF asks for newer version of PowerDVD 9

Hi I've just followed your instructions to extract PowerDVD, CLVsd.ax from the Trial version available on the Cyberlink website - downloaded 2 days ago. However, when running SAF setup it pops up a screen that says my CLVsd.ax is not the latest version and quotes a newer version number (sorry didn't write it down)

Any idea where I can obtain this newer version?

Also I'm using 1.1.0 Alpha. One of the main reasons for using SAF is I couldn't get Audio for Videos. I had a PowerDVD 8 Ultra installed.
Now after installing SAF I get Video Audio. I have the decoder set to S/PDif output. However the Volume adjustment doesn't function - rather being a constant output.
Any ideas why this is happening (it could be this issue was always there as before using SAF I wasn't getting any Audio at all)

Regards

PDVD on PDVDsite is outdated. Unlocked SAF will fix your "problem" ;-)

About your passtrought problem - read first page of this thread and look for "Problems with AC3/DTS when using passtrought".

Unolcked SAf and mpeg-4 TV-broadcast

Hi Hoborg and all SAF-users,

I just wanted to share my experience with SAF and receiving HDTV broadcast. After having installed the unlocked version,, still only channel number. EPG and technical info is available for the mpeg-channel chosen. No picture, no sound, and Pc tends to hang, although, sometimes, I can exit the channel and use MP normally. I m using a Hauppauge HVR-1300 card, which as I've understood, capable of receiving, but not decoding a HDTV signal, which I was hoping SAF would take care of.
For your info, its the Hd version of the Czech NOVA I m ve been trying out.

Any similar or more successful experiences out there?

greetings,
Tommeltott, CZ

My friend tested SAF and N@VA HD and it is working for him without any problem.
Did you setup TV server to use PDVD9 decoder?

Can you post LOGs (SAF+MediaPortal)?

What's the problem with haali? I've just installed win7 32bit. Was hoping it would work :(
