OK. I first tried turning off PDVD MPEG2 DXVA from the Start menu which didn't make any difference. Then I updated to Cat 9.5, which didn't make any difference either.

I found another bug. It seems that ffdshow is installed with Resize and Aspect enabled and set to "Resize to screen resolution". Unfortunately, it took the resolution from my monitor (Display 2 - Primary, 1280x1024), rather than the display that MP is working on (1280x720), which resulted in the video not filling the screen and caused some head scratching until I worked out what was going on. I've specified the size manually now which is working fine.

You are right, but if resize doesnot work for you it doesnot mean it is bug. SAF cannot suport milions of hardware combinations... I am using only one monitor and it is working good. So if you have problem with that, simply disable it.

BTW, do you have some "On The Fly DVD decrypter" installed?

My OS is Windows XP Evolite. I'm trying to use graphstudio but because of not being able to play the file, graphstudio can't show what filter is in use. What do I have to configure in MP for avoid DXVA with VC-1 files?

Thank you very much.

I've opened the mkv with graphstudio and the filter in use is Nero. I have configured the next graph:
Haali -> WMVideo Decoder DMO -> ffdshow MPEG4 Video Decoder -> Video Mixing Renderer 9
With this configuration it works, but not fluently. I have an E5200 Dual Core. I think is enough for play 1080p, isn't it?
Why all these problems with this kind of files? How can I configure the system and MP for a fluently play even without DXVA?
Sorry for all my doubts but I'm a beginner with codec issues.

Thank you very much

One of first SAF window tells to you to uninstall NERO, this software have ability to dominate over your OS. Then reinstall SAF and try again. If you check nero filter in graphstudio, one information is filename and its location. If you post me that filter, i can make SAF to auto disable this file in SAF setup process.

I've uninstalled Nero Burning ROM and now it works!! Playing the file in WMP 11 is not fluently, but in MP it's ok. Now, I can enjoy Matrix Trilogy in 1080p.
Hoborg, Thank you very much for all your work and congratulatios for your awesome tool. :D

i've now changed again from ffdshow audio to mpc audio and now i don't have any stuttering. So perhaps you can include the MPC-Audio as well again in your SAF Pack? So the user can decide which one he wants to use?

Today my Son woke me, he could not hear any sound with the DVD Cars :) Other DVD's with AC3 audio were fine.
Could not resolve it with ffdshow settings, passthrough AC3+DTS were selected.
Installed AC3 filter and switched DVD audio playback to AC3 filter and it was all working again. Have to do some investigation here.

I hate this codec hell

Rename *.TS to *.MKV and it will be working :)

One of my future plan is integration of AC3 filter. Bigest problem is, that i have no way how to test it (only analog stereo here) :(

what is about mpa audio? Also with AC3filter i've some stuttering with german channels. It seems related to the A/V sync. There are already some german threads about it.

I have just installed SAF on my HTPC.

This has an intergrated ATI 3200HD GPU, which I don't use, I actually use a PCI-X Nividia 9400GT card. However on installation SAF picks up the 3200HD, not the 9400GT, is this likely to be a problem?

I have uninstalled all t he old ATI drivers, so I'm not sure why it is getting picked up.

    thanks,
