    Hi.
    SAF install FFDShow ver. 3130
The question is - what that tool is looking for? Maybe some registry entry? No idea...

    EDIT: Version is stored here:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GNU\ffdshow\revision

Test SAF4.00beta21test2 - should be OK now.

    Hi there
just editing the registry or installing new Beta worked both very well.

    Thanks alot !
    Greetings Sebastian

Need help with hddvd rip playback - LPCM not working

First thanks for the wonderful SAF codec pack. Everything is working for me except the audio codec for hddvd, the file is taken from the disk and not compressed or altered (as far as I know), I believe it is in LPCM format. I demux the wav file and can play it back in both winamp and vlc in glorious 5.1 surround sound. But with Audio Codec set to ffdshow audio decoder, I just get static - GraphEdit Studio revealed the Haali Splitter audio feeding directly into the audio sound card without going through ffdshow. Any suggestion or fix would be appreciated!

p.s. I do have the ffdshow audio decode enabled under Video Post-Processing per the intruction, even though I am not using SPDIF pass-through on my system (I have 5.1 soundcard). Either way, it did not seem to change the situation, as I did try the SAF install without the pass-through option, and without the Video Post-Processing in the configuraton.

    Thanks!
    Jaz

I haven't had any problems with the latest betas for a long time now, although I am confused:

Are we supposed to use MPC or PDVD9 for H.264 video with unlocked SAF?

Please, post small video smaple - use MKV merge to split.

MPC for local media, PDVD for Live TV.

In next MP version, there should be possible to use MPC video decoder for h.264 TV too.

I helped a friend install MediaPortal yesterday on a Windows7 system and got a "missing proppage.dll" error when trying to install SAF (4.00beta20). I had already installed MediaPortal 1.1.0 beta without errors, and updated all the DirectX stuff.

A quick Google search tells me that GraphEdit seems to not be installed on his system. Same search suggested that I'd install some SDK libraries, but that sounded a bit crazy to me. What might be missing from his system?

I also could not get the *unlock* of SAF to work (had followed the instructions that should be valid for Vista and Win7/I've only tried successfully on XP before). Is "system32" the correct destination even when using Vista/Win7? Most files I tried to playback did work however, so I guess he'll survive until I have a solution. :p

    Thanks!

    Hi.
system32 is for x86 system olny, if your OS is x64, you need to use "SysWOW64" folder.

I also installed the latest SAF. I'am using MP 1.0.2
When using the plugin "TV gemist" I got a black screen for a few moments and then it goes back where I started.
This worked before I started with saf.
When trying the last url (see below) in MPC-HC I get failed to render url.

    In mediaportal.log I see:

With OnlineVideo I can play wmv files.

Is this a problem with SAF ?

    Thanks,
    John

    RTL is using WMV format.
Try to enable MS DMO decoder - START - SAF - MS DMO - enable.

This will broke some WMV playback (like Game trailers in Online Videos).
