Well my "problems" with 9.11 were actually the files I was trying to play. They are 1080p with 8 reference frames. The thing is my other box runs linux with XBMC, which uses nvidia's VDPAU which apparently handles x264 much better than DXVA because they played fine (and it has a 3ghz P4 cpu which would never do 1080p).

My other machine with a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.0 ghz plays 1080p just fine with MPC-HC. The graphics in that machine are VIA Chrome 9 and I don't think there is any DXVA being used. So don't underestimate your P4, with the right software it plays more than you think.

Don't upgrade / tinker with a working system, you are inviting trouble. Some problems are very intermittent if you introduce an intermittent problem then it might take you a while to realise. Resist the urge.

I noticed some videos wont play properly unless I untick YV12 under output mode in ffdshow video settings.
I tried with CCC set to RGB and YCbCr format and can't play video unless i disable ffdshow YV12 output.

EDIT: Sample attached - RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting (700kb file size, max 10x downloads @ rapidshare)

If you can't play it either without disabling YV12, then maybe this should be disabled by default?

no live TV but perfect playing Video files

    HI!

I have a strange problem and found nothing similar in this thread.

I've no problem by watching any kind of Video File ... (.ts .mkv .avi ) all works like a charm. But if I try to watch live TV i get a black screen. There's no video pin connected on live TV. See attached jpg (MP and Graphstudio hardcopy).

I search since weeks and found no solution ... it is a hp Laptop with an ATI HD 2600 (HD video also works like a charm)

Hope someone point me in the right direction ...
