Can't say I noticed anything but I only tested it with a TV recording. Might be different with DVD and sometimes different decoders have problems with seek.

I've only tested it in graphstudio so far but if you look up about 4 posts, you'll see how I found it compares to the Cyberlink decoder

And did you replace default renderer in graphstudio by VMR9? Default is not DXVA compatible.

@Hoborg: Why is the new PDVD MPEG-2 decoder in SAF then? I would stick with older perfectly working versions if possible. SAF version 4.00-21 was perfect.
NTSC on PAL gives framedrops, i know that. But with the ffdshow the picture is nice and fluently but only audio (SPDIF) is delayed/stuttering.

Then use it. Nobody force you to "update".
SPDIF problems you say? Than this is not a video decoder problem, but can be related to FFDshow HD audio passthrough update. Lots of problems was already fixed (saf400beta23test3.exe) and some will be fixed in next FFDshow release. I am still waiting for "official" ffdshow release to add it in to next SAF.

A small advise: I am using the latest SAF (thanks!) with also an installation of PDVD7.3. This older version is only used for DVD playback. I use the navigator and the MPEG-2 decoder from this version without any problems.

FWIW: PowerDVD 7 doesn't seem to allow Vectoradaptive Antialiasing, I can only get that in PowerDVD 9 (with DXVA enabled) and Microsoft DTV-DVD codecs. I'm not sure if it is the same for PowerDVD 8.

The only small problem with using PowerDVD 9 is, that I think the picture "wobbles" (moves up/down) a bit when the scene changes a lot, ie when panning from a really dark area to a really bright/colourful area. It is especially visible around logos. This goes away when disabling DXVA, but then I don't get Vectoradaptive Antialiasing

I must have done otherwise I don't think the Elecard and ATI decoders would have used so much less CPU. I was just swapping out the decoder in the chain, so the renderer would have stayed the same for all three decoders. I'll double-check though and do some more testing with older Cyberlink MPEG-2 decoders.
