I am currently testing the new version of Online Videos (which supports BBC iPlayer), I have encountered a problem where the volume is too loud from the FLV videos.

When I look at the graph its using the MPC FLV Splitter, and then feeding the AAC audio to the Monogram codec.

I have tried adjusting the codec (from within MP) to reduce the volume, a -10db change has helpded (but could do with more) - but my main worry is that other AAC sources will now be too quiet.

I tried enabling AAC in ffdshow and playing within there (I can confirm the graph showed it was going through ffdshow audio).

Would it work to leave MP using monogram, but enable AAC in ffdshow for other AAC sources?

What are the best options in ffdshow audio to reduce the volume for just this source/type of audio, without reducing the volume levels for the other types? (I have pass spdif passthru enabled)

But since MP has a new codec configuration section, the first post is rather confusing. Could you update the screenshots in the first post?
When installing, there is a warning that you should add ffdshow audio decoder to postprocessing. Does this account for all sections (so Videos, DVD and TV)? In the first post it says that you only need to add it to postprocessing when having problems with AC3/DTS passthrough... Which statement is right: always add ffdshow to postprocessing or only when having AC3/DTS problems?
Could you clarify these questions in the first post so installing and configuring SAF will become a bit easier?

You mention that if you want RealMedia support, you should install real media alternative. Why is this not included in SAF?
Same goes for Quicktime alternative. Why is it not included in SAF?

And when I´m having problems with videos in the OnlineVideos plugin, how can I find out it's a codec thing or something with the plugin?

OK, but by turning DXVA off, am I using software deinterlacing? Isn't hardware deinterlacing independent of codec acceleration? How can I tell what is doing the deinterlace?

If I leave DXVA on and turn the deinterlace pixel shader on in MPC, I get a relatively good picture, but I'm guessing that is definitely software deinterlace?

"deinterlace pixel shader on in MPC" is simply MPC-HC postprocessing - it is part of MPC-HC player. Of course it have no efect outside MPC-HC player...

So I still don't understand. How can I have DXVA working, but get no hardware de-interlace?

I'd use presets in FFDShow audio - create a preset with reduced volume level, and then set the auto-switching conditions to check for the presence of the FLV splitter in the graph (note this is the name of the filter diaplayed in the graph, not it's filename).

RealTime alternative is already in ulocked SAF, QT alternative have ~20MB - that is too much to integrate...

Can you confirm where you specify the name of the filter for profile switching?

Under preset autoload conditions I have:

on application exe match
on volume name match
on volume serial match
on decoder match
on a directshow filter presence
and others that aren't too relevant....

On the decoder match, it only lists audio formats (eg aac, ac3, etc)

Put the filter name in the "on a directshow filter presence" section.

Hi there,

i got the problem that a downloaded basketball game in mp4 format is ansynchron.

I used all config show in the first post of this thread means MPC-HC is my standard player. Playing the same file with MPC-HC outside from MediaPortal works fine. Here i also got the problem first but after ticking all internal filters its works fine. Which of all the internal filters works i dont know.
Also with Media Player 11 works fine.

What i also tried is to use an external player in Media Portal and it also works.

So what can i do to get it synchron within Media Portal.

Media portal is 1.1.0
SAF v4
Windows 7 32-Bit
