Hi

On the newest MP 1.1 RC1 I cant play xvid files any more using SAF.

They play fine with MP-HC and did so with the newest SVN before RC1.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Me too. I tried running the 4.1 installer of SAF instead as a possible solution, but I get two errors during the install.

    1. There is a ffdshow.ax that can't be overwritten by the installer
    2. There is a file missing according to the installer.

However, if I search in my computer for an ffdshow.ax file, it can't be found. I really hope Hoborg is back soon.

Have any of you tested whether it's SAF or MP? Does it still not play with SAF not installed but with seperate codecs?

I'm just speculating here, but those of you having the recent problems - did you uninstall SAF BEFORE you ran the RC1 install for the new MP release?

Are we all using Moving Pictures beta 3? Because I just remembered that I had some playback issues when installing that on my system. I'll try reverting back to beta 2 (was working fine for me) and see if that's the cause of this.

    Re: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

I'm waiting on a MovingPictures import right now, but when done I will be able to test if this is due to *not* removing SAF before upgrading MP to RC1.

Just need time to finish the import and I'll report. 1100 movies takes a bit.

    My process was (so far):

    1. Uninstall SAF.
    2. Reboot.
    3. Install MP RC1.
    4. Open Config, change basic settings as needed, re-add share links, etc. (ignoring codecs).
    5. Install TVSeries & MovingPictures, Skin, MovieListToXML.
    6. Allow MovingPictures to re-scan shares and import movies & imdb info.
    7. Install SAFRC1 (unlocked).
    8. Reboot.
    9. Test movies / xvid in specific.

    --- UPDATE --- RESULT:
    Unable to play Xvid video.
    Video codec: XVID
Audio Codec: MPEG-1 AUDIO LAYER 3
--- SPECS ON MOVIE PLAYED ---
    ° Quality DvDrip-XviD-2-pass
    ° Video 887 Kbps/612x340/16/9/23.976 fps
    ° Audio Mp3 112 Kbps/44.1 KHz/16 bits
    ---

So, in a nutshell, it's not the install process. I used MovingPictures Beta 3, emphatic got any results on Beta 2?

I'm just curious if the problem you are having with xvids was caused by not uninstalling prior to the upgrade. Just trying to get someing definitive for Hoborg - maybe save some troubleshooting time.

I'll update when I test (hopefully in the next 30 minutes.)

    PS. Beta 3 for MovingPictures.
