Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

After a fresh install of XP, MP and SAF5 (unlocked), for the MPEG-2 decoders I see both "Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD10)" and "Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD10)". What's the difference and which one should I select for Video/TV/DVD settings?

Fair enough there is, so my question about which one I should select was a bit redundant. However, the only one shown in the screenshots is "Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD10", so I still wonder why the other one is even installed by SAF if it's not used and what the difference between them is.

On my Win7 machine the Cyperlink Video / SP Decoder (PDVD 10) works much better than Cyperlink Video Decoder (PDVD10)
for SD Live TV

- FFdshow has Synch Issues an therefore for me no way to use it
- Microsoft DTV Decoder for LiveTV has a bad Picture and sometimes Artifacts ( like Cyperlink Videodecoder PDVD10 )
- MPC Gabest are good - but not so good as Cyperlink Video / SP Decoder.

I do not understand why Hoborg suggested on a WIN 7 machine to use the Microsoft DTV Decoders for both SD and HD TV.:sorry:

best regards
Harald

Thanks, I'll try the Cyberlink Video / SP Decoder (PDVD 10) instead to see if it's any better.

    Hi there!
I have a little problem over here.
If I play a file or dvd or bluray with dolby digital or dts sound and pause it.
The sound is gone after resume the film.
I must stop and start the film again.

    Does anyone has an idea?

    thanks

i'm trying a new os for my machine.
i want to change from WHS to Win7.
any ideas, why live HD tv has so many artifacts?
there was no problem on my WHS with saf 5 unlocked
but on win7 it isn't possible to watch any live hd tv (fta hd on astra 19,2)
the only program working is "einsfestival" with powerdvd codec

I have the same problem. Before i used XP which worked without problems. No im Using SAF5 unlocked and have tried the PDVD10 and the Win Codec for HD TV. Any idea on how to narrow down the problem?

    +1
The only codec I can use for Live TV is Cyperlink Video / SP Decoder (PDVD 10). The other cyberlink decoder gives me small sync problem and FFdshow is impossible to use (major sync issue).

For everything else FFdshow works perfect...
