The SageTV buyout means one thing right now: SageTV is dead, most certainly never to live again.
Whatever will become of their tech is a big unknown, but one thing is for sure: we will see it in some form is some future Google product. In a long time from now.
What I can predict though is a bunch of SageTV users looking for alternatives really soon. This forum is one place they will look for those alternatives.

Fixed, I think.
Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this.

The only configuration that is certain to work is when the MP client and MP server are from the same release.
It is sometimes possible to use MP clients from a release that is different to the MP server, but whether it works depends on the specific changes that were made between the two releases.
