Im on Windows 7 64 Bit, I have a DVB-S2 omicom and Im using mediaportal 1.1.3. My problem is when I iniate a scan it keeps finding the same 10 channels on every transponder which is really strange it cant seem to lock onto a transponder/
Im scanning the Astra 28.2 East Sat.
Ive added an image to illustrate the problem:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Ive tested the card using DVBVIEWER and all channels work fine.
Any help anyone would give would be appreciated, I really want to get it working and leave dvbviewer behind as its so buggy!:D

    Hi fazak

    Welcome to the forum! :)
Yes, this does seem to be a strange problem. We don't explicitly support the Omicom tuner that you're using, however it should work as long as the hardware supports BDA tuning. If it requires manufacturer specific tuning functions to be called then you would need to get the information about these functions from Omicom before we could support it. Assuming it uses BDA tuning only, the first thing I'd ask you to do is try using the DVB-S network provider instead of the generic one. You can find the "preferred network provider" setting in the tuner properties (select the tuner in the tuner list in TV Server configuration and click edit - as per the info in our wiki -->here<--).

    Hi again fazak

Thanks I put it too DVB-S and it worked...
    That is good! :)

...only problem is it doesnt seem to have found the DVB-S2 channels
    ...and not so good! :(

Okay, most cards require code changes to get DVB-S2 to work since tuner manufacturers each had to make their own way of supporting DVB-S2 (Microsoft didn't add support for DVB-S2 to the BDA standard until Windows 7 :mad:).

There is no guarantee this would work, but you could try modifying the tuning parameters file. The file you need is C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\dvbs\28.2°E Eurobird 1 Astra 2A,2B,2D.xml, but this in a hidden folder, so you'll have to enable viewing of hidden and system files or search for it in Windows with scanning of hidden and system files enabled. Once you find it, open it in any text editor (like notepad) and replace all instances of "ModQpsk" with "Mod8Vsb". After that, try to rescan...

I have exactly the same problem with 1.1.3 and 1.2.

My Tevii S470 cards return the same channels on all 4 sats as if diseqc is not working.
I already set the DVB-S scan option, but that doesn't seem to help.

Haven't found the sat xml files yet to see if that's the solution.

Is this a known problem with the Tevii S470 cards in combinatin with a Multytenne dish?

BTW: DVBViewer and DVBLink both work without any problems...

Mars Warrior: as much as I want to help you, I can't do anything without logs.
