Sorry it's been so long since you wrote back. I never received an email notification. Felt abandoned :).

Anyway, much has happened since then. I needed to replace that computer. There were numerous problems that made it very erratic. So, after three service visits to my location and one round trip to the factory, HP decided to give me a new computer.

Sorry to report that I'm still having difficulty getting the Schedules Direct plugin to work.

I would have attached the most recent log but I can't seem to get to that. Again, I'm asking for your help.

Thanks.

    Thanks.

Open the TV server config tool... top left is a button that says Log Files or something like that... click it and it will open a file explorer.... attach the latest tv.log file after doing a clean restart with the Force guide update checkbox clicked.

I fear that I've gotten another dud computer. I'm dealing with HP on that issue. The log file exists on the C: drive in a path c:/program data/team media portal/media portal tv server/log but I can't get to it though Windows Explorer. According to Windows Explorer that directory doesn't exist. Consquently, I can't upload anything. What's next?

ok... I don't think its a dud just yet.

the programdata directory is hidden in win7... so you need to tell explorer that you want to see it

I'm going from memory here... but I think if you open a file explorer, go to tools -> folder options

    then select tab called view

in advanced options select view hidden folders and files

now see if you can get the tv.log

I believe that the attachment didn't take on the previous message. I see no plus sign for attaching a file and the "Upload a File" button that a do see below the area in which I'm typing provides no confirmation that the file did actually upload. So if you don't have, please help me to get it to you. Also, I'm using a new computer (I exchanged the one I was using previously) so do you need new specifications? If you need this, a quick "how to" do this would also be appreciated.

My recent computer experiences are some of the most frustrating that I ever had. A blue screen bug resulted in an HP tech support person requesting that I completely restore my hard drive. I did but it didn't fix the bug. It just resulted in me having to reinstall all of the deleted software. This included MediaPortal which I've just installed. But now I can't attach the SchedulesDirect plugin. I don't know how I did this before but I can't get it now. Can you help?

OK, let's give it a shot:

First, I assume you're using MediaPortal 1.2.3. If so, get the latest SD plugin:
    http://mp-schedulesdirect.googlecode.com/files/SchedulesDirectPlugin-MP1.2.3.zip

Second, follow the install wiki instructions... they're short:
    http://code.google.com/p/mp-schedulesdirect/wiki/Install

Third, you can be the first to use the config wiki that I recently created:
    http://code.google.com/p/mp-schedulesdirect/wiki/GeneralConfigWiki

If you get stuck, post the tv.log so we can help you debug the problem.

    Good luck.

    Geoff
