Okay. Either I'm incredibly thick (a definite possibility :)) or something is wrong with the instructions you provided. All seemed to work well through the first two steps (although the download yielded no file that needed to be unzipped) but the third step didn't lead to the config wiki. Instead it brought me to the same wiki as resulted from clicking on the second link. I've created a log file and tried uploading it using the "upload a file" button that appeared below the text box into which I'm typing (I could find no other options like this) but it kept returning an error. Problems on top of problems. What to do now?

D'oh! I updated the third link to the proper config wiki.

The download is indeed a zip. When you double click it, whatever zip software you have opens it up like a folder. No matter, as long as you copied the files to the proper location, you're good.

When you started the TV service and opened the TV Config Tool, you saw the SD plugin in the list of plugins? If so, you enabled it?

As a test, I've uploaded a file in this reply... we'll see if it works.

Yes, I've enabled the Schedules Direct plugin in the TV Server Configuration (and entered my user name and password) but, alas, no schedule appears. Your attachment came through but I still don't see any way of sending the log files to you other than the "upload a file" button that leads to the error.

    OK,

Steve and I got the log after some back and forth on email. Here it is:

There are some errors from the plugin. I'll have to look at the code when I have a chance.

What type of tuner are you using? Is it one where you had MediaPortal auto-tune the channels? If so, then the plugin doesn't create channels, it simply maps a SD channel to a MediaPortal channel and then gets the guide data.

The plugin looks like it's getting stuck on the channel mapping part:

    In answer to your questions...

The tuner is a Hauppague HVR-1250. MediaPortal scanned the channels to see what stations were available.

OK, In this case, it means that the section on Digital Cable and Satellite does not apply to you.

The channels already exist in your database and you don't need the plugin to create any channels for you. All you want it to do is "map" the Schedules Direct channels to the MediaPortal channels you have.

So, you need to uncheck "Automatically add new digital cable/satellite channels".

Click the force guide update and restart teh tv service again.

Send me the log and I'll post it.

Just want to say THANKS to Valdi for his MySQL tutorial on page 1 of this thread. Saved my bacon.

I had mc2xml working and decided to switch to Schedules Direct to get more detailed EPG info. However, I couldn't get Schedules Direct to recognize the channels and reassign them since they were already assigned to the XMLTV sources.

Went through and manually edited the database according to his instructions, and EPG is working great again.

Once again, apologies for the delay. I did as you suggested. Still no luck. There's no data in the TV Guide and the channels appear in no particular order. The log is attached.

Problems on top of problems... Now I find that MediaPortal has become completely non-responsive. Is this related to the other problems that I've experienced. The log is attached.

    OK,

Seems like the plugin is still getting a null pointer exception (crashing) at the same spot as before. I think it's trying to get the webservice connection to SchedulesDirect and is failing. You've entered the proper username and password, correct?

Also, is your network a simple home network with access to the internet through your cable modem, dsl modem or router? You don't have an HTTP proxy or anything like that? Grasping at some ideas here :)

I'll build a test version of the plugin to see if I can log some more information to determine where it's dying on your system.

    Cheers.

    Geoff
