Hi all. I have tried to install this on the machine I am running my tv server on and another server I have on my network. Both machines are server 2k3 boxes. The flavor of sql I am using is sql 2005. The sql 2005 server is running on the same machine as my tv server. I created my new database user account in the sql database and it tested fine when I logged on using it. After installing the web server on the same machine as my sql server and tv server, I configured the database page as instructed. I then tested the connection and received an error logging on. The error mentions named pipe provider:could not open a connection to sql server. The other machine immediately generates an error that says the data source name nofound and no default driver specified. I am just new enough to sql to be unsure as to how to proceed. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi Im getting the same error.
Error Connecting to TV Server Database
    Failed with the following message:
[Anydac][Phys][ODBC][Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data Source Name Not Found and no default driver specified.

This is on a Win2K Small Business Server which is running SQL2000. THe TV Server is on another machine running SQL2005 Express.
Everything installs OK on the TV Server itself, but for me to access the machine from the internet, be handy to be able to installon the SBS machine.

Anyone have an idea on how to overcome this?

On my SBS2000 server there is SQL 2000, which Im guessing is causing a problem?
Ive updated the MDAC to 2.8, and a clean install of the Web Interface, but still no go and get the same error.

Makaveli: Look at this old post of mine:

Reinstall MP and TV Server with those settings and both TVserver and Webinterface works...

    -gunck4

I will try that when MP 1.0 final is released. Because upgrading is a lot of work.

But if I understand correctly, I will have to lowercase the DB, and then install MP and TV server with that DB?

Yes- that worked at least for me. :)

Just got back to the office... we lost a major client on Friday, so it is a bit hectic. It may take a few more days for everything to settle down.

Yes you can install the web server on a different computer, but at the moment you will not be able to control streaming or tv cards using the interface. For this to work, you need to install it on the same PC as your TV cards.

I hope to change this in the near future by adding to the TV card and streaming control to the BKHelper program so commands are sent by TCP so that the Web Server is independent of the TV Server.

Just trying to finalise my TPG IPTV EPG update onto MP using the web interface. the URL I am using is Listening Post and I can map the MP channel to downloaded guides channel, but nothing seems to get updated into the MP guide. I can not see it in the web interface nor the SQL database.

Any suggestions on where to start looking....????

I guess there is no possibility to control more than the TV function with this plugin? I would like to have a web gui for music, weather, pictures etc which makes it possible for me to use my touch screen as a "remote" while my secondary screen is showing the standard MediaPortal interface.

Just replied to you in the other thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/plugins-47/web-interface-49903/), but basically the remote control function provided by this app, allows you to control the whole MP Suite. I think this app was intended for PDA style screens, but can still be used on the PC without a problem.

    Delete channels

How do I delete channels? I have deleted some channels after a scan in TVServer, but they still show up on the Web Interface's EPG screen.

Since there is no EPG to DVB-T channel mapping they are displayed as empty columns.

:D for the useful app :)
