So after a restart the TVservice doesnt work anymore and i dont know why. I tried to reinstall Tvserver (complete uninstall). But still Tvserver doesnt run.
Okay, then please try to ensure the TV Server database configuration is correct. To do that, run SetupTv.exe like this:
1. Open the start menu.
2. Type cmd then press enter.
3. Type cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server" (this should be the path to the TV Server install folder) then press enter.
4. Type SetupTv.exe /configure-db and press enter. This should start TV Server configuration showing the database configuration window.
5. Enter the correct parameters and then test whether the TV service will start.
This was the closest match to my problem that I could find. I've been trying to get TV working for a while with moderate success, when I came back to it to try again I find that I cannot get into the TV server configuration app, just comes up with the generic windows box saying "SetupTV.exe has stopped working" same thing happens when I run the above command line shown in #4 (didn't think it was relevant but thought what the hell )
Everything else in MediaPortal and the other config applications work perfectly and I'm getting to the point where I might go for a re-install but I'm reluctant to go down that road because of the time I've invested it it so far.
When the app crashes the following gets logged in the event viewer:

O Frabjous Joy!
That seems to have done the trick.
Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday!
Cheers
Ralph

A little confusion for me here!
There are 2 x files in the folder......one is x86, and other is x64
Wondering if I should be selecting the x64.....since I'm installing the 64bit version?
UPDATE Transferred both files to the destination folder, and labelled appropriately. This way...

100% my bad - as expected :)
So, I had disabled the Windows Update service. Not a wise move, until MP all installed and working nicely. The reason it failed is because DotNetFrameworkChecker.cs looks in Registry HKLM SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\NET Framework Setup\\NDP for v4/v4.0 AND v3.5. W10 has V4.0 but not 3.5. MP installer...
