Just got in!
I will be creating a new file that will delete the extra spaces(hopefully) and the new file will be 2005 dependant.
Any Devs want to integrate this into the SVN I can send you the modded

Just to clear a few things up
Close Media Portal
Install 2008 Runtime files
Stop TV Service
Back up original TSWriter.ax
Copy New TSWriter.ax, sky_it.dict & sky_uk.dict files to TV Server directory
Open TV Server Setup
Disable the XMLTV Importer
If not done already Scan channels on your chosen satellite.
Once you have all your channels select the following
For Sky UK EPG : Radio Channels --> Radio EPG Grabber --> EPG Audio Background.
For Freesat EPG : TV Channels --> TV EPG Grabber --> Brit Shorts.
For Sky Italia : Radio Channels --> Radio EPG Grabber --> IEPG Data
You do not need to select a language.
You can now go to General Settings --> EPG and change the refresh time to 1440mins if you wish(24hours) or you can leave it at the default.
Now go into Manual Control and click Reset DVB EPG.
Wait for 1 hour(you can minimise the window but you mustn't close it, nor can you navigate out of the Manual Window). When your card says it is idle you can close the TV Server Setup.
Your system is now set up with a Full EPG and will auto update every 24 hours(that is if you don't record 24 hours a day or haven't changed the refresh time). You do not have to use this method everytime to update as the TVServer will automatically update after you have done this procedure once.

When I go into Manual Control, it doesnt show up, the title changes at the top of the page "Manual Control" but the actual page doesnt change from what you are currently on.

Setting up a working EPG certainly seems to be the most difficult task in Media Portal!!!! I haven't done so much reading in ages and I still feel like I'm sitting and hoping that I'm doing it right.
I have TV server open and the only box ticked in the TV EPG grabber is BritShorts - I have manual control saying that it is Grabbing EPG for Brit Shorts
I have Media portal open - but no tv playing - sitting on the programme guide hoping to see something magically happen - should Media portal be open or not?
I have had to change the timeout to 60mins - because set at 10mins the grabber just reset to idle after 10 mins.
Should I be seeing something happening - there is no kind of progress bar which is frustrating - there is hardly any cpu or hard drive activity and I can't help but think it can't really be doing anything.
It seems to have been stuck for ages.

I could do with your EPG log and error log if they are there.
Also to let you know the updates that the TSWriter does. i.e. the extra day on the end of the week takes 6 minutes if you're wondering. The update cannot be performed any earlier than 24 hours after the last update, this isn't the TSWriter but the TV Server coding. So you all might as well set your refresh times to 1440.
