As long as you keep auto merging optional.

That worked out horribly last time, it merged different providers different versions of the channel if they had the same name. it wouldn't of been so bad but was made impossible to access the variations of the channel which actually carried different programs. It required entering TV server setup manually adding seperate versions and editing tuning details.

as for EPG source if it's the same version it's not really an issue. for example sky/freesat/freeview all update some channels for me. Usually it's not in issue unless CPU use updating the EPG is an issue.

Hey all. Have been using this on my current setup the past and have been working great. One bugbare that I'm not sure I'm just missing something or what is with Record Series. I have it setup that when I press record on a program in the guide all you get is Record Once or Record Series. This works perfectly. What I can't figure out is how to do the same with a show that is currently airing (either in the guide or while viewing a channel)...MP gives different options...'Current Program' and 'Until Manual Stop'. How can I add 'Record Series' to this menu as sometimes we might be watching a show and decide we want all of it. Currently we have to skip thru the guide to the next airing to setup the series.

TV Server never merges channels automatically. Either one or both of DJBlu's and miroslav22's EPG grabbers have [also] altered the channel scanning/creation logic to automatically merge channels with the same name (or some similar condition). Obviously that behaviour is not desirable in some cases. You would have to ask DJBlu and/or miroslav22 why they made that design decision.

Yes, it only matters if the EPG sources are not equal in terms of richness of data or reliability or other factors like that.

I would be very keen for something like this! I don't understand why this is missing from even the unmodded TV Server.

More so, I would be very keen for MM, Miroslav and DJBlu to roll out a version of TV server like MM outlined above... That would be awesome ;-)

Once again apologies for the delay. Here are installers for 1.3.0 Alpha with the Sky EPG 1.1 patch. There's a few minor fixes from the previous version including the one DJBlu posted a few weeks ago. You can safely upgrade from 1.2.3 without dropping your database. Be aware that some plugins and skins don't yet have compatible versions for 1.3.0 Alpha.

I finally took the plunge updating MP and ran the two installers in the file contained at this link and chose to update keeping my settings. But when I open MePo configuration, it says version 1.2.100.16? Is that right?!

@ Miroslav, sorry to bug.... but have you been able to look into my lack of free card issue? It appears (Other half has just mentioned it!) that its happened several times this week - A reboot has solved it each time

J. This is an issue with 1.3.0 Alpha and will be sorted by the team. I think you might need to wait for the beta version as it's quite a large issue.

Hi, is this a 1.3a issue then? I have this freecard issue now and reboots havent fixed it

EDIT: Ok, so I ran MePo in debug mode to get some logs but for some reason after closing it didn't make the log file so I've just used the package all available logs option.
I'm not sure if its the same issue Jay had as, after playing around some more (within these logs) I noticed it seems to be only Sky Sports channels that won't tune and say no free card. All the rest seem fine? But they were definately working a few days ago before I updated to 1.3a. I haven't messed with the TV server in that time except for updating powerscheduler++ via the extensions installer, I havent been in the tvserver configuration though.

Is this MePo related or something I'm doing wrong on the other side of things?

Sorry to be a pain and bother you again but is there any chance of combining Sky NZ as standard in this and maybe incoporating a series remind function too?

I'm also curious as to how I can strip the [[05]] or similar leading characters from the EPG like EPGCollector does... Thanks!

Hi all, I'm using v1.3.0a version from this thread. I have ticked sky EPG and only selected 'EPG background radio' in the radio EPG grabber. I have set it to enable crc, always try to update EPG and enable EPG grabbing while idle is set with 15 min timeout. When i manualls refresh the EPG, it grabs for about 10 minuites. Once finished i load up media portal and go to tv guide, but there is no EPG or categories or ordered channel numbering. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Not sure why the guide isnt populating and nothing seems to be happening in the epg. Many Thanks!

Iam a long time MP user and the work done here is outstanding!! However I have just done a fresh install (as I swapped to SSD ) and for some reason now I can't grab the sky epg data so I dont get series links which is a feature I really love. If I untick the grab sky epg and go into radio and tick the freesat info, It then grabs all the data but the series won't work as its not the sky epg data that it grabs. I have set it to enable crc, always try to update EPG and enable EPG grabbing while idle is set with 15 min timeout. I have attached the log for you to look at as it just says:-

I have tried using 1.2.3 and now 1.3 alpha and I get the same results.

If I boot from my old hard drive it get the full sky epg and I have compared settings and they are both same. Do I need to change the transponder channel?
