Going forward I think traditional broadcast and bulk channel providers will still have their place for awhile, but more and more people are enjoying internet video streams. I would like TV Server to support generic internet streams that people currently have to use OnlineVideos for as channels of some description (with the associated recording and timeshifting abilities). Maybe that is pie in the sky type thinking, however my point is that in future I would like TV Server to be far more flexible about EPG sources and linkages.

Most of this thread is far too technical for me, but what you mention above sounds very useful for hbbtv (or YouView which is kind of the UK version of hbbtv afaik). It basically means that you can scroll the EPG back in time to choose previously aired programs, and then it grabs the online catchup version of the show seamlessly. I presume that this somehow links the EPG with the online version in some way, like you describe. It is definitely the future, though personally I don't think the UK version will survive in it's current form due to the many competing interests which are involved in it.

Anyway keep up the good work guys - I wouldn't use MePo if DJ's plugin wasn't available and it's amazing that I can set up MePo to be better than Sky's own system (which in my opinion is already very slick and polished.) The one downside of MePo and the EPG grabbers is the configuration, which is a bit of a nightmare - in fact I've stopped updating MePo now, because 1.2.3 works fine for me, and I can't face reconfiguring the custom data grabber again! Personally I think that MePo would be far more popular if StreamedMP was the default skin, and things like the Sky EPG grabber were better (or preferably fully) integrated into MePo. I also think that the features of the generic keyboard/remote input plugin should be integrated into Mediaportal Configurations's remote section.

I have just discovered a new epg channel 'IEPG data1' I haven't had chance to check if they have the same tuning details or not as the epg back ground audio channel. I just thought i'd meion it in case it has any relevence to the epg background audio channel not being picked up anymore.

Just a quick point - on Thursday I lost all EPG data for BBC Four & BBC Three. I had to do a rescan of the DVB-S card where it seemed to 'find' them both again, and then I combined them with the DVB-T channels. I got then manually refreshed the EPG data.

The question I have is, have BBC recently retuned these two channels?

Aha... that explains it. Thanks DragonQ, luckily the GF had gone to bed so she didn't notice this... it would have been just another problem with the system to her; and I have been messing abot for around two weeks fine tuning stuff since I set the server up :rolleyes:o_O

    Hi,

I am using Version 1.10 (Mediaportal 1.2.3), This has been working FLAWLESSLY for months now, but for the last 4 day's I have woken up to the TV Service stopped, I have looked at everything and been unable to find out why.

If someone could take a couple of minutes of their valuble time to check my logs i'd appreciate it, as I am at a complete loss.

No configuration has changed, it's just "worked" and worked well until 4 days ago

Thanks for anyone who could shed a tiny bit of light.

Congrats to everyone on a fantastic product !

    Hi there,

Without going through you logs (will do later)...chances it will be one of several things (assuming nothing has changed):

    Corrupt Database
    Corrupt Gentle file
Microsoft sneaked in an update (but if this was the case lots of people should have the issue)

    I'll check later....
