Does your 1.3 alpha version work with epg on windows 8? I know dj blu's grabber doesn't but need to do a system rebuild urgently and was hoping to install win 8 if I could get it working for for wife approval need a functioning epg!

I believe 1.3a does not have windows 8 support out the box, although I have seen some patches on these forums which will make it work.
I am in the same situation as yourself, I am ready for a rebuild from my 1.2.3 box, I particually want native Blu-Ray support, but as the release of 1.3 beta is expected any time now I have been holding off, (I believe 1.3 beta will have "unsupported" support for Windows 8).
1.3 beta has a lot of fixes from the feedback of 1.3 alpha, and will also contain the new Titan skin also, which looks excellent
I am not sure what the timescale is on the the sky enhancement version, once the official 1.3 beta has been released, i'm sure the developers can give you feedback on that.
During the time I have been evaluating other systems to grab the EPG, i.e. xmltv and digiguide.co.uk for a small free something like £10 a year you can get their windows based software (which is extremely good) and using some extra tools get the same result.
I have personally decided against this and to wait, because I love the simplicity of this grabber, and the one killer feature it has "Series Links" i use them all the time, and would be lost without them.
Therefore I'm playing the waiting game for 1.3 beta and a new version of the sky enhancements, that would be my recommendation to you.
I have used the Sky grabber for a few years now and it has been pretty much faultless - until I put the new tuner cards into the server.
In the past, I always had an almost full EPG using a combination of Freesat channels and Freeview channels. I now have gaps in the EPG for the channels noted below, and cannot get to the bottom of why they do not populate. I have not done anything different with combining channels, there are no duplicate channels causing confusion either. This is the third clean scan I have done, and the same channels are not populating. It's driving me nuts
I only have IEPG ticked in the radio channels list. This is as I have always done.

Not of great help directly but I can tell you they work for me, so hopefully it's something that can be resolved.
I recently had an overhaul / clean up of my EPG and channel lists. I had lots of missing channels and non-populating guide entries. Some would tune, some wouldn't. I definitely had an issue with some DVB-T / DVB-S2 combining, but from what I remember, I also had some problems even when I corrected those until I totally deleted the channel from the database, then did a rescan, added the channel back in.. and it started working again.
Have you tried deleting the channel out the database (not just out any channel groups), doing another channel scan and then re-adding the channel? Maybe worth a try.
Yeah thats what I meant - far as I know that does completely delete them. When you say freesat and freeview combination list of channels, do you mean some are DVB-T broadcasts? I may be totally wrong but I didn't think the Sky EPG would populate for the freeview channels. I only have actual Sky DVB-S2 channels in my lists.. How are the channels you mention as broken broadbcast?
I have DVB-T/T2 and DVB-S/S2 cards in my system. Since using MP over three years ago I have always had a combination of DVB-T and DVB-S/S2 cards.
I usually scan all cards, and then combine any DVB-T/T2 channels that have duplicates listed on DVB-S/S2, irrespective of whether they are scrambled or not. I have always done this and the EPG has always populated for the combined DVB-T/T2 channels.
An example of this is "Dave", this is available if you subscribe to Sky and is available on Freeview. The DVB-S scan shows Dave as being scrambled, however if I combine the two and put this combined channel in my "Favourites" group, the EPG always has populated. I can watch Dave on the combined channel without issue, although I have no idea what is on now as the EPG is not getting the data for this channel. However, there are a number of DVB-S only channels that I have listed above that do not get data, whereas prior to the new quad cards going in, they used to do. I can still watch them OK though.
Maybe I'll have to set up a different grabber for those channels that now don't populate; sigh! I thought my EPG problems were well behind me.
I suspect the combining of skys channels was pulling the info in, just combine them again. But yes, my card is Dual S2 and Dual T and I was getting problems and blamed it on the combined channels so maybe it was having an effect for you? I heard it was fixed in the beta so maybe try again then.. There is always the channel movement to consider too, I had no end disapear and it was because of the channel movement but a full rescan should of fixed that for you. You should probably post some logs though if you want the devs here to help.
I think the only one who can help with this particular build is Miroslav, and he seems to have gone quiet these days. I have no doubt I'll get it sorted in the end, but at present everything is working (almost) so I'm not going to start messing - God forbid that I should bugger up ALL the TV's in the Christmas run up
