Many thanks for doing this

Can someone please reclarify the upgrade process from the previous SKY EPG release. I believe we have to export and import the DB?

Or can we now simply install 1.2.0 and it takes care of everything?

Back up your channels if you need to. Using the Import/Exporter.

Remove Mediaportal completely so it deletes the database. Then install 1.2.0 alpha. Then install the SVN on page 1.

Import your channels and settings.

I haven't tried this so I cannot guarantee it will work.

When this is uploaded, do I do a 1.2.0 install and then install this over the top?

Secondly, does it still support SQL 2008 Express R2 as the database?

Yes,

You need to install a fresh copy of Media Portal. aka 1.2.0 alpha then the svn on top.

Unsure of the DB as I don't use MSSQL. You have to test urself.

It doesn't work with SQL 2008 Express R2 - the database upgrade fails.

I had to go back to MYSQL...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the process the same (backup/remove/install/add patch) if you are moving from MP 1.1 (with your patch), and want to move to 1.1.1?

MYSQL is certainly more flaky than MSSQL..

I can't remember if 1.1.1 worked with MSSQL either.. I switched to MYSQL at some point and can't remember when!

MSSQL is more robust, and faster so would love to be able to use it again...

Well I've just switched back to MySQL

Its easy enough to switch between them, just exports and imports (or use the Backup Settings plugin).

I'll see how I get on......

And another thing.. I cannot get series link working on the latest version???

Is there a bug or is it me? I have even done a complete uninstall and reinstall twice now..

When I press record button, instead of popping up a window with the series link option, it just takes me to a list of programs as per normal MePo..

Help!

EDIT: Just realised that I can select series link in advanced record options, but it used to just pop up a box instead of taking me to that menu - any idea why this has stopped happening?

It looks like there are a few issues regarding the patch merge into 1.2.0. I'll fix everything i've found (including MSSQL problems) and re-upload the installers tomorrow.

For now don't rely on the series link to record anything, it might not work.

What was wrong with the SQL command? I hadn't looked at the MSSQL as I find it too bulky. Being on a 512kbps connection downloading is a PITA.
