Cool, just wonerding whether diseqc is supported under the new bda driver. I spose it would be vendor specific and will require code before it will work anyway? And btw Gibman, cheers to you for the dev work you're doing in MP :)

WDM or BDM for multiple SS2 and Diseqc?

    Hello

I am just reading through this thread and realise it might addressing the problem I am having here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/second_skystar2_not_recognized_tve3-t29635.html

In short, I try to use two SS2 cards and diseqc with TVE3.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I understand now that

WDM drivers support diseqc but not two SS2 cards at the same time
BDA drivers support two SS2 cards but not diseqc

    any solutions on the horizon?

Stupid question: Can I run one SS2 card with a WDM driver and the second one with a BDA driver?

    Thanks, T

In the German part of the forum, there was someone who was using one card with the BDA drivers and one with the WDM drivers. But if I remember correctly it is a little bit complicated, because it isn't standard case.

The WDM drivers support DiseqC and should support more than one card. I think the limit was 4 cards, but it could be that this is only true for the built in TVEngine.
With the BDA drivers 4.4.1 RC2 the TVServers the SS2 is recognized as "Generic BDA Card" in the log. In theory than DiseqC is supported, but AFAIK this is an experimental feature and was primarily developed for the Terratec DVB-S card. Here is a small quote for your information from a comment in the sourcecode for this feature: Use this at your own risk!!
