Glad to have found this thread, I also got these issue on some channels:
I've got test files and log files for you
http://nilsschneider.de/temp/test.ts
This file was live-recorded from a DVB-S channel on my tv server, but the client is unable to play it. No error message, it's just that the screen doesn't get updated.
But if I remux the file into a mp4 container, the client plays it fine.
http://nilsschneider.de/temp/test.mp4
This file is not re-encoded, it is just another container type and this lets MP play it.
Just renaming it to mkv doesn't work though.
Attached are my log files, just started MP and tried to play test.ts, which failed.
Interestingly, MP even ends playback after the correct video duration and in window mode, even the window title updates correctly (when pressing X while playback, it switches between "Videos" and "Fullscreen" etc.). It even created a thumbnail for this test file, it seems that the only error is missing video buffer updates.
VLC and WMP11 play this ts file just fine.
If there is anything to do for me to help, just tell me. I could create larger recordings and upload them if needed, etc...
Regards,
Nils
