There once was. I remember when I had installed power dvd I could choose power dvds navigator. Dunno if it's still possible.

I know that it would be much work to implement support for more commercial navigators and keep this support up-to-date.
Are there any opensource navigators? Is the MS navigator part of MediaPlayer? Maybe its different with Vista?

Same problem, just updated to 2.2.0 (kissed goodbye to MetalMedia - my favourite skin) and found a blank screen when entering DVD menus.

The only way I could fix it was by choosing another codec but then I lost my DVD navigation. Then I intalled an update of the MPV codec (from codecs.com) and the blank screen problem didn't reccur but now I still have no DVD navigation in DVD menus. I can press OK but cannot move left/right/up/down, etc., it's a real hassle when watching DVDs with multiple episodes.

Is there some DVDnav update available? Does anyone know where it could be found? Any solutions?

Also, I have no idea what an svn is or where to get it, the Media Portal site is very vague.

Best Workaround to get DVD Playback working in MediaPortal is AnyDVD.

MediaPortal has Problems with the copyprotection of the DVDs

Tried AnyDVD didn't fix the problem I have, I still cannot navigate some DVD Menus especially when they are animated.

Why can't we choose anymore another DVD Navigator ?

Because there were mayor problems with them which weren't fixed :(

Just build your own config allowing to change it and try if you find a better combination which can be kind of "whitelisted".

Ok I'll try, I changed from NVidia PureVideo to MPV and this fixed for the current DVD with which I had problem with. But I'll try with different Navigator too.

Just noticed it with Casino Royale, doesnt even gte to the menus just doesnt play, have to eject to get it working. Tries different codecs without any luck. Am using latest SVN. Any further info on this issue?

Nope. I disabled dvd autoplay and got it to work when starting it manually. Most of the times anyway...
