I dont know about TVServer but in the old TV engine, there is an option that says "Use non-index channels(US)" or something similar that should do what you want it to do.

    IR Blaster help....

Has anyone managed to get the IRSS to work with Multichoice PVR I? I have a basic setup at home with MCE remote and blaster. When I install Windows 7 I am able to configure it to change my PVR's channels with no problems, but I can't get MP to do the same.
Do I need to create a new IR command file? if so, how do I go about doing that?

    Any help/guidance/assistance would be appreciated...:D

    Hello all SA users,

First off happy new year, full steam ahead to the World Cup!

I am checking of anyone has had experience of using a PCI DVB-S/S2 card with CI and CAM with DSTV?

I have always wanted to get the best generation signal into Mediaportal and am finally ready to take the dive on this route. Can anyone recommend any particular hardware? (The idea here is to be legal of course)

I was thinking of the following Technotrend S2-3200 and budget CI: http://www.dvbshop.net/product_info...-S2-3200-HDTV-S2---Budget-CI---TT-Viewer.html
    and the following cam: http://www.dvbshop.net/product_info.php/info/p2302_Euro-Irdeto-CAM--bySmit-.html

    Any advice would be appreciated!
    Thanks, Geeps

Thanks and a happy new year to you also....

In the past I read many posts of people trying to get DSTV working with CAM's, but there was no way found to get past the DSTV security restrictions. Based on these posts DSTV has so many restrictions and controls that the only way to watch it is by using a DSTV-Decoder. I do remember one success story in one of the posts, but the user used a very old smart-card (more than 6years old)....the new smart-cards just cant be used, they are locked down to securely. Sorry, that's about the only knowledge I have.....

firstly, my first post so hi to all! :)

secondly, sorry for the res of an old thread... but I know you guys will be able to help me, as most of us from SA are STILL working with analogue signals... Who would have thought!

So Im trying to setup a HTPC, but not really... hehe. Its my PC I use everyday, and I have dual screen. Basically I want to be able to have the DSTV on my second screen, while Im doing whatever on the main screen.

So I bought one of these and hooked up the DSTV via RCA leads

    Compro Technology, Inc.

Clearly this was a BAD buy, and no programs seem to support it... Mainly because it doesnt have hardware encoding, is that correct??

So im going to buy one of the following, I just need to know which one will work with Mediaportal? I have access to the following:

TV-EXPRESS HAUPPAUGE WinTV-Express PCI card, 125 channel, Mono - no remote
TV-PCIFM HAUPPAUGE WinTV-PCIFM PCI card, 125 channel, FM Radio, Stereo - includes remote
    TV-HVR2200 Dual OEM HAUPPAUGE WinTV-HVR2200, PCI-e 1x PVR/FM, 125 channel, Stereo, MPEG2 Decoder - no remote (MCE, OEM, LP via Bracket) *
TV-HVR2200BRK AddOn HAUPPAUGE WinTV-HVR2200 optional RCA in Bracket
TV-HVR2200BRKLP AddOn HAUPPAUGE WinTV-HVR2200 optional RCA in Low Profile Bracket
TV-HVR1900 USB HAUPPAUGE WinTV HVR 1900, USB 2 only, Digital/Analog TV, DVB-T antenna (1.5Gb/Hour MPEG2) - Analog only in SA
TV-HVR900HD USB HAUPPAUGE WinTV HVR 900, USB 2 only, Digital/Analog TV, DVB-T antenna (1.5Gb/Hour MPEG2) - Analog only in SA

I appreciate your help very much, and again sorry for the res of such an old thread! :sorry:

    Welcome...

I would say your best option is the "HVR2200"...... Just note that there is a bug with this card HVR2200 Radio Bug

As far as the dual-screen display, you might have problems to get it working....do some research on how it works on the forums befor you try.
