I'm not sure if anyone is using the custom XML file I create. If you are please note that I changed the categorization for Animation movies and created a separate category from them. I did this since MP only reads the first category level. I mainly use MP to record Animation movies for my son and with this separate category I get a list of all Animation movies in the guide with one click. The Animation movies will obviously not form part of the Movies category anymore.

What tv card are you using?
what are you using as input to the tv cards .. RF or RCA (A/V)?

Re: ir blasting and dstv channel and guide setup

Gerhard0003,

Install the IRSS MP plug in, https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/ir-server-suite-irss-165/ir-server-suite-aka-irss-releases-75092/

In TV Server you will have a additional item, TV3 Blaster plugin in STB Settings you are to select and use the PanasatIRD624DSTV quick select profile.

Plugin configurations in MP look for the MPcontrol plugin for IRSS, under abstract remote select microsoft MCE, under Macros you can capture the channels to be blasted, 131 for SABC1 e.tc

For blasting i had to select only the port i have my blaster connected to or i could not blast, other users however are able to select both without no problem

oooh, be patience, i know this is one part of the setup i really struggled with.

All the luck,
mjmapi

Hi

Here are the basic steps. I did not check the steps so I might have missed something small, but it should give you the general idea.

Steps to load the channels into TV Server Config:
1) The easy way is to import a config that has already been configured from: Download http://www.codeweaver.co.za/export.xml
2) Open the TV Server Config and select Import/Export and import the export.xml file.
3) Click on TV channels and select the channels you want active.
4) Click on TV mappings and map the channels to your input card
5) You can also download http://www.codeweaver.co.za/logos.zip and extract it to C:\Users\All Users\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\tv\logos to get the correct icons for every channel.

Steps to load the DSTV guide:
1) Enable the XmlTv plug-in in the MP server config
2) Configure the path where you are going to place the guide data.
3) Download the dtd file from blah
4) Download the guide from: http://zaxmltv.flash.za.org/schedule/ZA-XMLTV.xml.gz
5) Extract the xml file and place the xml file and dtd file under the directory you configured in step 2. Just remember to rename the xml file to tvguide.xml
6) Ensure the guide imports correctly by verifying the import status report.
7) Develop a script to automatically download the newest xml file once every day.

What decoder do you use? The instructions below will word for the 990, 1110 and 1113 decoders – it might work for others also, but I only tested the above.

Steps to get the blaster to work:
1) Install IR Server. I user version 1.4.2.3664
2) Ensure you configure your blaster for transmit and receive and run IR Server as a service.
3) Open TV Server configuration
4) Enable the TV4 plug-in
5) Open the TV3 config and select STB Config under the Plugin Setup
6) Select Panasat IRD624DSTV under quick setup and click Set
7) Test the blaster using the test function
8) Also remember to disable the MCE remote under Media Portal Config -> Remote (this is assuming you use the MCE remote)
9) You might have to restart MP to get the IR server to work correctly.

Re: ir blasting and dstv channel and guide setup

I have another problem that is realy p***ing me off now. everytime I go to the IR command, I do the Learn command and the learn time out which means i need to restart my pc everytime to learn a new channel from the dstv remote.

Is there another way around this , I am sick of rebooting.

Please again

If the learn time's out i don't see why to have to restart the PC, can you not just reopen it?
In IR learn commands you learn each of your keys, i only did 0-9 keys then in macros i just make a combination of these to blast the channel number.

Are you getting the notification that the key you learning has been successfully captured?, if not try to bring the remote closer to the eye during the learning.
