Please clarify what basic home editor is. Should I be looking for an .xml file to edit? My current thought is to change the setting in some .xml file and direct the "My Video" link to get Moving Pictures. So if I click My Video, Moving Pictures will pop up. Is that a correct assumption?

Also z3us uploaded the myfilms xml files. How does one use that in streamed mp? Is it possible to use it?

    I appreciate all the help.

    Thanks much in advance.

When you install StreamedMP, the installer will create a icon on your desktop or start menu to launch the basichome editor. You use it to create your own basic home menu with your own items on it. No need to manually edit the xml file.

The myfilms xml's can be copied to your skin\streamedmp directory if you want to use it.

hi... I've been playing around with the Streamed MP Editor for approximately 2 hours and can't seem to figure out the concept. I created another menu which I named "My Videos" and generated it but it didn't show up on the list. I'm really puzzled on what the application does. On the left hand side, I selected Movies and movingpictures below. Then I renamed the name to My Movies. Checked it and click generate.

What I'm hoping to do is to create this new item and once I click it, movingpictures will show up with all my videos so I don't have to go and click "my plugins" then "movingpictures".

Is it possible to do what I want to do? I don't want to spend another two hours to find out that it's not.

    Thanks again.

Have you activated the Basic Home Screen in the MP Config for startup?

If not, activate it and you see the Screen you have configured

I was tossing up adding a checkbox to the installer which allows the user to set the option to use the Basic Home in the last build. I think its a little confusing so I might add the option for next version.

I still have a problem in the music section... there is no OSD when changing volume, which is quite annoying!

I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has helped answer my questions. I finally got it to work. The reason it didn't work was that I didn't check to use the basic home screen in the mediaportal configuration. I'm really impressed with the program. It just makes the entire display much more nicer.

Now it's time to try to search around on out how to shift some of the text for "year" and "runtime" to the right since the text actually overlaps on those.

    Thanks.

This is a MediaPortal issue not a StreamedMP issue...if you try any other skin you'll notice the same.

I remember seeing an option once upon a time that allows you to enable this...can't remember where though. Maybe I just imagined it....

I played with the settings in the xml file again to adjust the fonts and position and finally got everything to look the way I want. My problem was that I have set the resolution to 1920x1080 and increased the percentage of the font higher so I can see it on the screen. That may have increased all the font size as well in Streamed MP. I did get it to work except for one item that's bugging me.

I can't seem to find the adjustment for the file counter (1/35) in the upper right hand corner. I'd like to move it more to the right so it's not over the other text.

Also, I noticed that one of the font which I believe is "mediastream12c" is the same setting as the movie list as well as for the "time", "moving picture" and "file counter" text on the top. Perhaps making that different would allow the user to change the movie list text larger. I was trying to figure out the relationships between the fonts and the settings file but wasn't able to locate it. If I did, I thought I could possibility create a new text name, size and redirect it.

    Thanks.

I tried to activate Darre patch (post 2 of thread) to change home screen to look and behave like the basic home screen but I only get a black screen. I copied both files in the StreamedMP directory and also added the mediastream.dll in the plugin/process folder. Also unticked the use basic home screen option.

    Anyone have any clue?
