StreamedMP not starting up at all (E_OUTOFMEMORY) (1 Viewer)

DirectX installed is the latest so no updates available, and updated from Microsoft website all updates. No luck.

I downloaded XBMC-2010-02-17-rev.-27936.zip from the Internet hoping that I get a working DefaultCaps.ttf, but the included DefaultCaps.ttf is different font all together, so it didn't help.

Now I've deleted DefaultCaps.ttf from the fonts folder and I can run StreamedMP, but ofcourse it is using some other font instead.

Yes, it will use the default font which will not look good. Did you try Driver upgrade for graphics?

No I forgot, I will try now. I'll download the latest nVidia drive.

Can you check if you have security update 961371 installed, and if you do please try installing (if not already): MS10-001: Vulnerability in the Embedded OpenType Font Engine could allow remote code execution

Im not sure if its compatible with XP, so read the fine print

Damien, I already have 972270 installed which fixes the problem that 961371 introduces.

But installing the latest nVidia drivers FIXED THE PROBLEM! Even though I was only 1 version behind..... strange.

All good and working now

maybe something was mentioned in the driver release notes with respect to fonts. Anyway, im happy its working now for you.

have this one popping up with the latest streamedmp install on my machine currently. Looking for a fix, will post if I find something.

Reinstalling did the trick for me!

This happens on two win7 machines, one 32 bit, and one 64 bit. I installed the font included above, and uninstalled/reinstalled streamedMP and it fixed the problem. Thanks.

The first things I would try are:

1. Install Latest Drivers for your Video Card.
2. Re-Install Direct-X
3. Delete the cache folder and restart pc.

To be honest I have no idea why this happens...luck of the draw I guess.

Yeah, none of those helped, installed the font in the zip file and uninstall/reinstall streamedmp took care of it. I don't think it had anything to do with the streamedmp install. I'll try it on the second machine with the issue and see if just installing the font helps and report back.
