uninstall SAF4 then install SAF 5.X unlocked version instead.
Thanks Kiwijunglist and Hoburg for all your help so far.
So far all the HD 1080 content is looking good!! Did Shift ! and frames dropped have dropping right down to around 4 straight away and never seem to increase much - perhaps the intial ones are just the startup. I'm using PDVD9 for TV.
Also managed to get Graphstudio working if I select Run As Administrator and Codecs all as per SAF and MP.
My only blurring now seems to be 720 size picture, especially if in an avi file which is how all my music videos are coverted via Handbrake - any pointers there? Hoburg, you mention coverting avi to mkv - would this help with the blurring issue?
Again guys, thanks for your help.
Regards
Graham
don't bother converting it wont help, mkv is just a "container", when you convert from mkv -> avi you don't actually convert the video it just sits inside a different container using the same video compression profile as previously.
I assume you are using a 1920x1080 TV. Play the 720 file with bluring in mediaportal. Press F9 choose zoom = 'original'. Does it still look blurred? This test will eliminiate a scaling problem. It might just be a bad encoder.
Also you havn't commented if you are using the dynamic refresh rate changer.
Did you change the overscan scaling settings for each refresh rate in the CCC, because you may find that when it changes to a certain hz to match the fps then you are using overscan, because you need to set it for each refresh rate individually. eg. you may have 50hz = 0% overscan , 60hz = 0% overscan , 24hz = 15% overscan. This would cause you to loose 1:1 mapping.
