I'm running Windows 10, writing and creating a file in the Program Files folder is only allowed for administrators and MediaPortal is running from a normal user account without administrator privileges. So if the plugin needs write access to this file it will lead to an error, obviously.

i get that. at least in win7 it creates a file in the virtualstore for this scenario. don't know if win10 also has this compatibility-shm.
but as I understood from your logs, subtitledownloader only reads from that file. Can you check if a normal user is able to read that xml?

    Yes, reading is no problem.

Just for testing I started MP as administrator and it is working. But this is no solution.

Needs MP to write to the file? If not then reading permissions should be enough.

    Greetings!
I have a problem with downloading subtitles in MP TV Series.
All plugins updated to latest versions.
    Please see logs.
    I'm running Win10 2004, MP 1.23, MPTVSeries 4.3.6, SubCentral 1.2.6
    Thanks

P.S. Subtitle downloader works fine with latest MovingPictures

17-Sep-2020 23:47:37.477 Error [ SubCentralGUI]: Entered plugin from ID #9811, but failed to load an appropriate handler.
Looks like an incompatibility version ... Or some problems when calling the function responsible for communication SubCentral and TVSeries ...

It is when i use the subtitle downloader in the TV-Series.
    1. I enter TV-series
    2. Find a episode I want to update subtitles to
    3. Enter the Subtitle finder
    4. The finder list the found subtitles
    5. I choose one of the subtitles
    6. Then whole MediaPortal shuts down - no warning and no error
