    Hi.
That would be great, thanks. Then I only need tMM to prepare all my stuff... ATM I need to use MP1 plugin TVSeries and MKVTagger to generate the xml and apply them to the mkv..

First let me say thanks for this software :)

writing NFO files (XBMC and MediaPortal format; MediaPortal is not fully tested)
That's always a problem with MP. Even MP1 and MP2 or MovingPictures / MP-TV Series is using different nfo formats. Or MP-TV Series is using the NFO, but not the pictures from tMM... Well, for now I using XMBC NFO format together with MP1 video database, MovingPictures and MP-TV Series. Not perfect, but it's enough for my needs.

I'm also (primary part) using the generated NFO files to (automatically) tag my movie or series mkv's (film title, global tags and adding covers). And here I have some questions:
    • If a movie has more the one production studio, I only have one in the XMBC NFO, but all in the MediaPortal NFO.
    • In MKV I have ORIGINAL_MEDIA_TYPE (DVD, Blu-ray, TV, ...) , which is imho "videosource" in XMBC NFO. It would be nice if I can add this info to the tMM database.
    • for movies I have IMDB and TMDB id in the NFO. For TV shows only the TVDB id, but not the IMDB id (if available).

I did not add writers, because at the moment we do have only the writer name (no role or thumb) which is already written to the credits. I hope this is ok
Right, for MP it's necessary to have writers in "credits". And atm in mkv I tag all NFO credits as WRITTEN_BY, even some of them should be SCREENPLAY_BY. But I can live with it. The themoviedb is having the necessary info. What's about thetvdb?

    And a last wish ;):
It would be nice if I could right click a movie / serie / episodes and select "execute external program". Which is my own tagging script in my case (which is working with one file / one directory / or directories recursive).

Welcome to my hell of different NFOs :p The NFOs are created to fit the needs for the media centers (I know these are awful, but the media centers need them in this way)
Btw: did you know that it is possible to define an own export xml file especially for your needs? https://code.google.com/p/tinymediamanager/wiki/ExportTemplates - incomplete, but it is a start point ;)

    • in XBMC NFO there is only the first production studio transferred (substring between start point and the first comma)
    • That is indeed on our ToDo list, but there is not ETA
    • I am working on an idea where we can put all collected IDs for an entity (movie, tv show/episode) to the NFO in a generic way
    • TMDB can have all necessary infos, but in tmm we only store the stripped down versions of directors/writers and all producers in a separate table (which is not possible to split again in different fields ...)
    • i've noticed the idea with the external program

    Hi mlaggner,

don't know if this has been reported/discussed before. I have three problems with movies processed by tmm. I am using xmbc nfos [Edit: Checked with MP nfos as well, same thing...].
The first two affect the sorting of movies in moving pictures.
First is that tmm will use the collection as sort name but the numbering in that makes no sense. Please have a look here

The Bourne Identity should be No 1 but gets No 4 from somewhere.
I can't fix it by editing in tmm cause the sort field is grayed out.

The second problem is that tmm puts the leading "The" into the sort by field so all movies with a collection will be listed under T.
Third and last one might be one of movpic, I can't tell. The field Collections will not be filled by the value out of tmm.

Could you please have a look?
    Thanks!
And many thanks for your great piece of software btw!

    Hi,

    - tmm sorts the movies into the collection in the order you put it in (if you let it automatically sort in, the order should be right..)
nevertheless, you can rearrange the order: simply go to the movie sets view -> edit movie set and there you see the associated movies and two arrow buttons to the left of that list; these can be used to rearrange the movies
    - okay.. I don't know how XBMC sorts these movie sets (because I do not use this feature..). I could use the sort prefixes from the settings, but I am afraid to do so - changing this now could break already existing movie sets from our users :(
    - I can't answer the third question.. maybe some other MP user/dev can have a look here..

    Hi mlaggner,

    thanks for your reply!

Ah ok, I was thinking TMM would get the order from tmdb or something. I did a fresh scrape for the sequence mentioned above and it turned out wrong. I know this is hitting the shitfan of moviescraping, but in my opinion it would be way better to use the collection combined with the year. I know for some people stuff like star wars would then not be in order for the "Episode" naming but 99.5% of collections would be. But thanks for the instructions for the manual ordering though.

Puh, honestly this is really confusing. First it is not about the sorting of the movie sets. The sort field it meant for movies not for collections. We just put in the collections value into the sort field to get the right order for the movies.
As it is right now in MP/Movpic movies like Oldboy will be sorted into T because its collection is named "The vengeance Trilogy Collection". Now if you are looking for this movie you will not find it under O. Even if you let out the "The" if would be listed under V which is no better. I guess I will have to deal with stuff like that manually.
