Depends on the hardware you have.
If your motherboard has reliable sensors the above mentioned tool comes in quite handy. If not, temperature measurement is mostly guesswork. What kind of specs do you have?

Hi,
my motherboard is Elitegroup PM800-M2, seems pretty new but of course a cheap one. The work is done by a Celeron D 2.4GHz (Prescott) CPU whith an Arctic Cooling Super Silent 4 Pro TC Cooler. So the Cooler seems to be temperature controlled since there is a cable into the aluminum corpus. I have no clue about the fan speed.
Does this say anything to you?
Thank you,
bubble

Ok, thanks for the User Management tip - I now get what I would expect. Now all I have to do is to figure out how to make Auto Login do what it says on the tin. The only way to make it work is to manually log in each time. Any hints as to what I'm missing with the login system?

The optimum settings for EPG grabbing will depend on your location in the world, and how you use your HTPC, so there is not a single setup that will suit everyone. This page in the Wiki explains some of the factors involved. The timeshift and idle grabbers can both be enabled if you wish, but the optimum settings for the timeshift...
