sorry when i have to ask this questions, but may be the package you downloaded is broken or anything,
please keep in mind that mpe1 is no Zip or any other archive.
Only download it and execute it by a double click.
Please can you tell me what MP version do you use?
In the first post, i will attach the plugin in a rar archive, so you can install it directly by copying it to the MediaPortal Plugin/Process Folder too.
please extract the dll from the rar file and copy it to "C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\process" folder.
There "C:" stands for your MP installation partition and the path is based on your operating system (but it should work in most cases).
After this is done, start MP Configuration, goto plugins section, scroll down to TouchControl, click right on the icon and configure the plugin with default button or how you like it.
I downloaded the mpe1 file - Invalid Package error
I downloaded the zip, copied the DLL into the process folder
I set the options in the configuration
I made sure that the plugin was enabled
I verified that the "ACTION_..." selected invoked from the keyboard would get the result I wanted
I then started to, ahhhhmmmm, to touch up my touchscreen.
Normally, if I gently touch up I tend to get the results that I want.
Not this time.
I get no reaction out of her at all. The touchscreen and PC react as if the plugin is not there!
What am I doing wrong?

PS, Hardware/software:
OrigenAE S16T Case with OrigenAE Touchscreen, USB connection, Touchscreen Utility eGalaxinc
VIA EPIA Motherboard
Software - customised Windows XP SP3 with as many services etc disabled
do you get absolutely no reaction from the plugin?
One idear i have is that your TouchScreen Software didn´t send the touch messages as mouse messages or it grabs the messages bevor the plugin does it, but far as i now XP can´t do it.
Can you please test the default configuration settings, using the "default button" in the configurator, maybe not every action can work on every screen?
In next steps you can also take a look in the log files of MediaPortal (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log\MediaPortal.log).
At every startup of Mediaportal, the plugin must wrote a startup message into Mediaportal Log File, if you can´t see a message in the logfile, then the plugin is not started and no gesture can be recognized.
If you have a startup mesage and you have set default actions but still no recognizing, then please bring Mediaportal Log Mode into "debug" Verbosity (can be set in MediaPortal Configuration).
In debug mode you can see nearly everything what the plugin is doing, every TouchControl message is starting with [TouchControl], so please check if anything can be recognized.
I hope it helps you a little, can you please attach your MediaPortal DEBUG Log file if all this doesn´t helps you?
Just to check, my touch controller is set to "click on release", could that cause trouble? I find click on release gives much better precision on actions (meaning, I "mis-click" much less often).
