True 16x9 background image (1 Viewer)

    All,

    If I start creating a skin with a 720x405 (16:9) background image will it work with MP.
    I have started a little on this and it seems as if the skin engine is biased towards 720x576 (4:3).

    you will need to tell the skin for what resolution it is made.
    DO so in references.xml.
    1 of the first lines.

    That was it! :) I had to set it to "Maintain display scaling". I think it was set to "Maintain Aspect Ratio", which added black bars to MediaPortal when playing videos that didn't conform to a strict 16:9 ratio, I suppose. Thanks to everyone for the patience and help, I can finally enjoy videos fully.
