Well, there is not much choice. You can basically choose from these: PC-Video/Video-/TV-Karten intern PCIe, DVB-S2 | Geizhals.at Österreich and of course the tv cards from Digital Devices. According to the Wiki, the TBS ones are supposed to be supported by MediaPortal, also KNC cards should work. Support for Digital Devices cards was introduced in 1.2.0 alpha.

But the KNC and Digital Devices cards are very expensive. If you want to stay below 100€, then the TBS one seems to be the only option (regardless of MediaPortal support).

Mine is TBS6981 PCI-E DVB-S2 Dual Tuner TV card. it cost me 100€, but it works great with my window media center. It is a tv card with dual tuner, so you can watch channel from one transporder/satellite while recording another channel from another transporder/satellite. it is building HTPC under Linux MythTV, VDR, XBMC and Windows 7 Media Center.

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...
