[Bug] TV: missing audio stream in records (Sky) (1 Viewer)

I had the impression that it was also happening when watching live TV and not just when recording.
I can't tell for sure though. Last time it happened to me I was recording while watching live too.
It did happen to me a few times when solely recording.

Let's be clear: I did not say you have this issue. I said it might be this issue, but nobody can confirm because you haven't provided log files.

Hey @mm1352000, @FreakyJ and others,

I have the same issue (German Sky, Plugin User, silent Audio streams on recordings; mainly on soccer-matches which have stadium-sound without commentators on 2nd audio stream) but a good old FireDTV as TV-Card. Would mm's patch work in this case? Asking because I am quite puzzled regarding all that DD-Stuff mentioned here.

No, the patch won't help you. It only helps DD tuners and people that use "the plugin".

As with Stéphane: please post log files. I can't help further without them.

From reading on that thread I'm pretty sure that's the same issue at least it exhibits the same behaviour. Having said that it could be a different root cause too.
Sorry for the lack of log files from my part I don't always get around collecting those.

Now in my case I find that bug is pretty hard to reproduce. I'd say maybe 1 in 8 recordings will have a blank English audio. However has for most bug it seems to trigger whenever it's most annoying, like just for the one movie you really wanted to watch [DOUBLEPOST=1394547122][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well it might be that this bug is not DD specific after all. Is anyone with non DD hardware having that same issue? Might be worth asking on the German forum since it seems to be specific to Sky Deutschland.

At least I have it regularly. I have this for a long time now and never realized why it didn't work. Always thought Sky isn't broadcasting properly. Only after reading this thread I got a clue that it may be a driver and/or MP issue.

Cannot say...the receiver went to basement the day it arrived...Who needs a receiver when there is MP?

I have to say that in the iPhone era that Sky Deutschland receiver is a real shame. Sky Anytime is quite good though and MP does not do that yet.

As far as I know you use "the plugin (aka MD@PI)" so this patch here will probably help you.
Personally I don't care much about this issue because I never realized it in my use cases, I just reproduced it to help fixing it
So it also makes totally sense that the issue won't appear with a Sky receiver, because it is a MP bug. If I recall it correctly it has something to do with dynamic PMT changes? At least Sky is adding/removing audio channels dynamically
