Sorry so much info in that post, though I had covered everything. I don't know as the display was off, when I start the display I happens and have to turn off the tv module(not service) and restart it and all is fine until next time I turn the display on. I've also had very less frequently some lost connections to the tv server. This did happen last night.

To be very clear: are you saying that you turned on the display at 10:45 PM?

If the answer to the above question is yes, my response would be that I think what you're seeing is expected and unavoidable.

Turning an HDMI-connected display - with audio endpoint - off and on disconnects and reconnects the associated video and audio renderers. If those video and audio renderers are being used for playback, that disconnect/reconnect process will be disruptive to the playback process. That's just how it is.

I turned the display on at 10:45 had been off since the previous night, thing is I don't have an issue with playing content from the plugins it's just the tv module and associated modules like recorded tv that's giving me greef. I just had a crash when I turned on the display and windowed MP to get to the desktop. Will post those logs when I get them.

Okay, thanks for clarifying. Obviously this means that the comments in my previous reply apply.

Generally a different result/output is explained by a critical difference in input(s) (eg. configuration, features etc.). I can't even begin to speculate about what the explanatory difference might be or make any more specific comparative analysis for other scenarios (3rd party plugins etc.) without corresponding log files.

    ...run after the crash...
    Crash?
I'm totally confused because this latest reply appears to be completely unrelated to what we've been talking about, and you've also given very little information.
Please explain in full what happened (ie. describe what you did and saw) and how it is related to the issue that is the subject of this thread.

Ok, so i saw watchdog run ... but cant find the log files.
Generally the default is to save them on the desktop.

So unfortunately i have collected some generic ones again. crash happened at 7:00PM.
Sorry, those log files are essentially useless for tracking down whatever happened.
The Windows application event log does show:
"7/08/2017 6:34:53 PM";"Application Hang";"(101)";"Error";"The program MediaPortal.exe version 1.17.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. Process ID: 64c Start Time: 01d30eb735a1fe20 Termination Time: 108 Application Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.exe Report Id: ";"1002"

    Given that's 6:30 and you said 7pm, I don't even know if it's relevant.

This log entry is closer to 7pm, but it's got nothing to do with MP:
    "7/08/2017 6:53:00 PM";"Winlogon";"(0)";"Error";"The Windows logon process has unexpectedly terminated.";"3221229477"

Ok so I did the usual, tv had frozen, so I stopped playing the tv, and mp crashed watchdog ran but when I came back to the computer today they weren't on the desktop. Searched the computer for the file and nothing, so that's why I posted these.

I can only guess Windows killed MP because TV stopped (and so Windows thought MP had frozen).
