I wonder what database you guys use, i have already a mysql database installed ( for a clanwebsite/forum ). But now i use it also for tv-server. but somehow it takes a very long time to start the tv setup. About 30 seconds at least. Don't know how long it takes to connect from a client MP since I didn't have time to install it :p

*FIXED*

I used the \SysWOW64 BDA files for a Server 2008 R2 copy and made a compatible directory tree for "Setup For x86.bat" from the older script.

*FIXED*

Can anyone help me to get my FloppyDTV-S2 to work ?

I am running Server 2008 Enterprise SP1 32-bit.

I installed the msi file for bda drivers for server 2008 R2.

> reboot

It asks for the drivers of my floppdtv

> installed firedtv 5.6 version

The TV-server doesn't detect my card only the mediaportal iptv and radiowebstream.
The FireDTVViewer detects my card but when I start scanning it says no hardware found.

> removed version 5.6 and installed firedtv 4.5 version

Nothing different.

> removed the firedtv drivers

Then I installed the bda-script and got the bda drivers from a vista 32bit copy.

> reboot

It asks again for drivers for the floppydtv.
I tried again both driver version, but it just won't show up.

I think this is the problem, found it in the TV.log:

Hi,

I just installed mediaportal on windows 2008 x64 (not r2).
I have just installed the engine and have two hauppauge nova-s plus cards inside.

I have read through the guides etc and have done everything that they say. After running bdaforserver, mediaportal now picks up the cards and I can scan the channels etc. Everything works fine and I get no errors etc but when I try and connect with a client once I turn the tv function on in the client it just locks up... I can telnet to port 554 on the server so it is listening.. and I can get the tv guide but it just doesnt want to stream out the channels..

Any ideas on what to do next? (i can provide any information to help someone help me...).. I am really keen to get it working on 2008 as I don't want to have yet another machine running just for mediaportal...

thanks

update: turns out it just needed a reboot :)

if someone ever wonders if he (or she) should go to SSD drives... i can highly recommend it..
even with only 1 for the system and timeshift, improves zapping speed dramatically...

i put 4 of them on a raid controller... and the results are beyond what I expected.. even with virtual harddisks its supersonic..

    highly recommended with Mediaportal :)

why would you want to develop something that already excists..
mediaportal can watch and record more channels then 1 .. even with 1 card (if on the same transponder) you can do that easy..
so the help i am providing you is easy..
    download mediaportal and install it..
