AW: Re: TV Server Plugin: TvWishList

hello huha.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I checked it. Yes, it says "Episodes to keep" == 2 inside that menu (see screenshot).
So this is a bug inside MP and not in your plugin?

One more thing: Inside MP there is a menu "TVWISHLISTMP". But when i select it (klick) the screen turn black an the message: "Missing or invalid file" appears. :(

regards

N.b.: The SQL-thing is to be tested in a few hours. Hold on ;)

Hi, I had this message "Missing or invalid file", too. I solved it by creating a messages.xml file in the plugin directory.

i started the plugin configuration once (MP configuration) and restarted MP after that. Now it works, too :)

    AW: TV Server Plugin: TvWishList

ok huha, i will try it. My english is not so good...

OK all of this is outside from MePo, on Windows with the Extensions Installer.exe

There i can see the new updates, your plugin was marked with an orange puzzle part. From there i can install this perfect.

All this is goin on in MePo over the extensions installer plugin...

I open the plugin and will look for new updates, there no updates shown and under installed extensions, your plugin have no orange puzzle part...

Now i left mepo, exit it and go to extensions installer.exe . Now you must think the first step isn't done jet. So he see the updates for your plugin. Now i close the exe and start mepo again. Go to the extensions plugin inside mepo and now i have the field updates and under installed extensions your plugin was marked with the orange puzzle part.

But when i will update from there, mepo close, i see the download status, after 100% he will install it but in the background was an license quest. The window that you see how ask you agree or disagree. And the run stops here. I must kill the extensions installer.exe . Now i see the window of the installer and can update your plugin...

I hope you can follow me a little bit and understand what i mean !!

    sunflower, bugmenot,
i suspect you had a message "Missing or invalid file C:\.........TvWishListMP.xml"
This means you do not have a valid skin file for the TvWishListMP plugin. it has nothing to do with messages.xml. This filemessages.xml is not needed anymore, only during export an ascii file is created with that name.
The reason for the error message can be:
    1) You are using a skin which does not support TvWishlistMP. Check the manual for which skins are supported. You can try to switch to the MP default skin for testing. You can ask the skin developer to support the plugin in the future.
    2) You have not checked the install skin option in the installer window. Try to reinstall and make sure the checkbox is active.

D3ltoroxp, i am afraid i am not able to support the mpei installer inside MP, as i am depending on a separate installer, which is called from the mpei installer and cannot do a "silent install" which seems to be required if you want to install inside MP.
My installer will first ask you for confirming the license agreement in a windows window and then start the install.exe window, where the version will be detected and the option of skin installation can be chosen. There is more user interaction required for installing the plugin, so i am not able to support a silent install.

Update: i just tried to install with the MP plugin and it does not require a silent install and does support an external installer. However, I got some error messages and an exception when trying to uninstall the plugin. It could be related to the behavior first seen by elliottmc a few posts before. I think there is an inssue with the mpei installer when using the Mp plugin. The external mpei installer works fine

    Update 2:
i tried again today using the MP extension plugin. i could not reproduce the error from yesterday - there was first a message file used by another process, which may have triggered the other errors.
But i think there is still a bug in the extension plugin. When i first install a test version without the extension installer I can upgrade with the extension installer plugin, but see multiple installed versions of tvwishlist. When i try to remove the older version with the extension installer the latest version is being removed and not the older one.

    hello huha,

i solved that "missing or invalid file by just opening the config-window of TVWishlist in MP configuration. Works fine now.

    2) i checked your settings and they are correct. It should work. Do you see under "Schedules" -> Episodes to keep the number 2?

I checked it. Yes, it says "Episodes to keep" == 2 inside that menu (see screenshot).
So this is a bug inside MP and not in your plugin?

    best regards

    bugmenot,
yes, this seems to be in MP and it does work fine on my PC. I am not able to reproduce. Maybe you try one more example with a larger number. I am keeping 5 episodes in my example.

    Hi huha
I am getting some duplicates. Not many, but some.
I am not sure why. It is possible that it is due to the way I manage the recordings.

    This is what I do:
After I have recorded an epsiode I want to keep, I use theRenamer to rename both the .ts and .xml files and move them to a different folder. Then I run the import function and remove invalid entries function in tv server settings/recordings.

I have attached a log file. An example here is the American Dad episode 'A Smith in the Hand', which is already present in the 'recordings' table in MySQL but gets scheduled in this log file anyway.

Or does TVWishList not use the recordings table?

foxbenw, which plugin version were you using for the log file?. Your log file is very interesting for me.
I see for 'A Smith in the Hand'
    - a deleted message on 22.10.2011 (expect Renamer did change the file name)
    - recorded message from 24.10.2011 (expect you imported again from the TV data base)
    - two scheduled messages of the same date 6.11.2011 which should not have happened. I will look further into that.
I also saw two email messages from which are telling me that the EPG dfata of this schedule changed from
    Start=18/11/2011 00:12:00 to
    Start=18/11/2011 00:10:00
So it got rescheduled by 2 minutes. I need to trace the program behavior in this part and will let you know.

Thanks. I am using the latest version.
A couple of times I have deleted all scheduled programs in the schedule table in MySQL and re-run the search. I don't know I this would have messed anything up.
    Ben

Ps for that particular search I have an SQL expression, looking for 'American dad' or 'American dad!'. It is also repeated twice, one for my hd channels group and one for all channels.

    foxbenw,
it should not mess up. Could you go to the TvWishListMP Mediaportal Plugin and do from the main screen -> More -> Export with verbose debug enabled in the MP configuration.
Your TvwishList.log file in the MediaPortal log directory should have an entry like shown below. Please post your Recording info for 'A Smith in the Hand' of American Dad.
