Yup, you are basically correct. WMC stole the tuner and possibly locked it. Even if it wasn't locked, the fact that it was used by another application is enough to disturb TV Server (TV Server can't know that the tuner was used in another application unless it does things that aren't really feasible and that would make channel changing take twice as long - 5-10 seconds). Nothing we can realistically do about this I'm afraid...I started Windows 7 Media Centre and tuned to a tv channel from my dongle . It worked , so I exited Media Centre and started MediaPortal .
I then tried to tune to a channel from my dongle and got a, "unknown error" message on screen .
A reboot sorted this and all is working perfectly with MediaPortal again .
I assume Windows Media Centre didn't let go of the usb DVB-T dongle properly and MediaPortal couldn't access it .
