    To paraphrase Winston Churchill:

TV Server is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

Well, need Google translate to right understanding of this. ;)
Also, maybe this should be in EPG thread instead of prevent standby. ;)

Please, take a look at red rectangles, uncheck first and check second could help.

And, check blue rectangle if you are sure CRC exist (at least, not in France).

    Hi there,
the setting in picture 1 works for me. DVB-EPG does not prevent standby.

    I use a combination of EPG-Buddy and DVB-EPG.

Are you really sure that the DVB EPG scan was running when your computer went to Standby mode? Probably it already had been finished that time.
According to other users in this post Standby is prevented during scanning by the design of MediaPortal.

Since I disabled DVB EPG and enabled EPG-Buddy the Standby mode works fine.

    Just tested :

Even if I found a weird code in PS plugin which maybe, need to be modified, sleeping windows is working in this case.
So maybe another cause could be possible (comskip process for example ?)

In my case Comskip wasn't active when the Standby mode was prevented. The "powercfg /requests" command shows that the TVService.exe is blocking the Standby mode during DVB EPG scan. As soon as it is finished, the powercfg entry is gone and the Standby mode works.

To avoid misunderstandings, the Standby mode works fine when I manually enable it e. g. via the Windows start menu --> Power --> Standby.
Only the automatic activation after a certain idle time (as configured in Windows power settings) is prevented.

And to avoid misunderstandings, configuring this way by PS plugin is working in this case (without windows, PS takes hand) :

There is a problem when this is checked :

    But, this is another story...

This might make the difference. In my configuration the "PowerScheduler forces system to go to standby when idle" option is disabled:

Update: With the "PowerScheduler forces system to go to standby when idle" option Windows goes to Standby mode even while EPG scan is running. (y)
However, since I'm not only using my PC for MediaPortal, I'd like to leave Windows handling the power modes - respecting MediaPortal actions like watching TV or recording.
I'd really appreciate a TV Server option for the user to set if EPG scan prevents Windows from standby mode.
