OK. I have finally managed to get to the bottom of it (with your fantastic, and greatly appreciated guidance!), however I am still a bit stuck.

So the TVservice is set to be dependent of MySQL service, however the wamp mysql is actually called wampmysqld64 service. I have managed to change the TVservice dependency in my registry to wampmysqld64 and everything works fine, however upon restart, it resets the TVservice dependency to MySQL.

Any idea how I can change the dependency in my registry and have it stick after a reset?

Ahhh, I see. That would explain things. :)

Hmmm, I'm not sure how Windows or TV Server would be doing that.
How are you setting the the dependency?
I know when TV Server installs itself it writes the dependency into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TVService DependOnService. Make sure you're not changing ControlSet00*. That probably wouldn't stick.

If worst comes to worst you may need to do one more reinstall and enter the correct information during the DB configuration step.
Alternatively you can run SetupTv.exe with the /configure-db command line switch to reconfigure the DB connection.

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...

I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network. Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units. Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...
