    Hi doskabouter,

I have attached clean logs with opening MP going straight to Online videos and trying to play a video.
I waited around a minute with progress bar spining and closed MP.

I have also tried removing onlinevideos.xml and performing a full update. Looking at the program files folder i can
see the dll's have been updated with todays date so they look like they have updated.

not sure what else can be wrong

i can play other flv based sites with no problems so think all the codecs / splitters should be ok.

Thanks for fixing the double entry issue, it is all looking superb now :)

We appreciate the time you are spending making this.

edit - also added logs from another PC that shows mediaportal.log (log.rar)
these appear to be showing it trying to play a file called http://tvnz.co.nz/content/3343730/ta_ent_smil_skin.smil

    :D

hi i am also from nz and have been eagerly awaiting this addition.

the only one left after this is tv3 :D

anyway, as i understand it, i am supposed to be able to update onlinevideos to the current version then locate this plugin in the sites list in the config page for the plugin?

however when i try to update it i get :

    retreiving remote sites...

then a few seconds later i get :

    onlinevideos.sites.doskabouter

    then about 10 -15 seconds later i get :

    timeout getting dll from webservice

so im not actually receiving the update i think?

is there anything wrong on your end or is it my isp (slingshot) perhaps i could try a manual update? is that possible?

i cant seem to find a newer build than the one i have already :(

    :D

    Hi vinneh,

Are you using version 0.20 ? (check out version number in bottom RHS of config window)

I was getting timeout errors in the previous version but this was fixed in 0.20.

I am also on slingshot and don't have any problems with the updates.

If you are on 0.20 and still not getting updates, you can try increasing the Webrequests timeout value
within the config window to a higher value to see if that helps.

If still no joy, you can try removing the dll / xml files from the MP folders and reinstalling online videos

Once it has updated sucessfully, you can either goto "manage sites" within the GUI or back to the MP config window
and you should see TVNZOndemand listed and you can select it to be added to your sites.

    cheers

I guess you have to have a little more patience.
It seems the part I wrote relies on some modifications made after the release of 0.20.

So with onlinevideos 0.21 it will work as planned.

    No worries,

Just glad you have found the reason why it isn't working now.

Don't mind waiting for 0.21 as it'll be worth it :) it's looking really good

One question. The streams are available in both 300k and 700k. will there be an option for selecting
which one in the same way as the other sites ?

    cheers

To which site you are referring?
If you mean as in youtube-related sites, I don't think thats possible, because there is (by my knowledge) no solution to multi-part and multi-resolution videos.
If it's really needed I can make some config option to set the max bitrate (for slow connections).

    Hi doskabouter

I was just curious to see if it is like you tube / apple trailer scenario's where after selecting the video, it prompts you for the resolution / quality setting

e.g. withing the .smil quoted above, the news is in listed in 2 sets of 3 parts

    3 parts with .....part#_300k.flv
    and
    3 parts with .....part#_700k.flv

Personally, I prefer it playing the 700k versions as the quality is better and have no steaming issues so don't need a selection, but curious to see which one it will play by default.

    cheers,

As I said before, I think a choice isn't (yet) possible.
For now, I'm always going for the max. bitrate

    sorry doskabouter,

misunderstood you. max bitrate is good :)
option to switch probably not needed.

will wait for 0.21 release to test this out further.

    cheers

    doskabouter,

Any chance you can have a look at this ?

Noticed that the categories had stopped listing any videos a few days after you initially made the plugin. Not sure why,
but wanted to wait till 0.21 came out before i mentioned it.

Now 0.21 is out i'm eager to check it out but can't :(

Hopefully it's something simple to fix. website hasn't shown any obvious changes in the way it works

    cheers,

    DD:)
