Any chance to get a better streamtransfer? - my upload is not the best with 750kbit/s, so i am not able to get a stream without any interruptions.
I am thinking of a kind of "big" preload puffer, you puffer 10 minutes or something like this and than you can start watching without interuptions until you cross the puffer zone.

The flash player already buffers 15 seconds. You can increase this in C:\Program Files (x86)\MPExtended\WebMediaPortal\www\Views\Stream\FlashVideoPlayer.cshtml (will be overwritten on upgrade), but I'm not planning to increase the default, as that causes higher load times for people with a fast connection.

Hello the new version works very fine. but I have some ideas to improve the WebMediaportal yet:
- Films and series that have already been watched should be marked as seen
- For movies, tv shows more filter options should be available (for example unwatched, Year), best would be the same views which are also available in MediaPortal.
- For Music filter options should be available (Genre, recently added, Year...), also the same as in Mediaportal GUI, too.
- You should be able to create a Music Playlist or play a Playlist from Mediaportal

I hope these ideas are possible and planned

Is it a real file compression so that my original file with 200mb is just 50mb for the stream?

Hello all,

yesterday it Web Mediaportal worked, now it does not. See the Log for the message I Web Mediaportal told me to post.

And I have a new problem, which I think could be related in any way: All the different setting pages, or how ever to call them, in MPExtended Configurator are empty. Pushing OK button brings no reaction, I have to close the window by Alt+F4.
I will post that also in the MPExtended Service thread.

I use Firefox and with 5 or 6 time F5 WebMediaportal was usable again. Is there a way for a workaround?

Yes, the file is given to a transcoder (either vlc or ffmpeg) which converts the video to the given format which then is streamed to the client. This all happens in realtime, which is what makes the whole thing so bloody complicated.

Good idea.

- For movies, tv shows more filter options should be available (for example unwatched, Year), best would be the same views which are also available in MediaPortal.

More advanced filter options can already be added by skins. For the default skin this might come in a further version, but I'm not too interested it (so patches are welcome!). Copying the views from the MediaPortal GUI is quite hard to impossible.

Any chance you are on Windows 8 or Windows Server 2008?

Unless someone stands up to do the hard work and writes the code, no. I'm personally not interested in doing this.

Probably won't happen in the near future, at least not unless someone else who actually uses ARGUS TV provides the code.
