Updated iMON (Soundgraph) LCD Driver (2 Viewers)

I'm not to be very lucky because I have iMON 6.20.0830 from Silverstone but I'm not able to have your driver working unless I use the v3 versio nof the DLL. The software itself from Soundgraph works fine if used with VistaMediaCenter.
dman_LFC had the same problem, solved renaming the DLL too. Other sin the thread had this issue before renaming the dll.
Beeing sure your VFD works fine with the 5.1 dll, I think that there may be something in the firmware of some VFD like mine.
About the IMON_VFD_DEMO, I cannot find anything in the code that have a static link to the DLL. Using the 5.1 dll I receive a HW init error...
Finally about Vista, you ar enot enabled to copy files in the %PRogram Files% directory programmatically, you need to have a user interaction. Only way to get rid of this issue is to put the file in another directory, for example %temp% or %programdata%...
In the hope you can fix all known issue and the suggested dev implement the new class in bass audio, I wish you a good day.

Hi Cybrmage,i've tested your last driver and now it's working well for me (i'm using Vista-UAC disabled and Imon UltraBay LCD).
And i've tested the EQ too with the core.dll from the previous release.The EQ works fine but after 4-5 second my LCD crash,but not MP.I can't tell you what it's causing the crash but i'm sure it happening when the bass freq. it's getting stonger(i've tested this several times same result stronger bass=LCD crash,so the 4-5 seconds are variable)
To recall my LCD i have to shut down my computer and turn off the PSU after that all back to normal.
By the way i have a problem with my LCD display not turning off when i shut down my computer.It's off wen imon shut down the Window but restart after computer it's off(i,ve already checked the "turn off backlight" option in Imon software).
To be sure i'm posting all MP logs.Thank

That is possible... But I think that it is unlikely... And there is no way to know for sure unless someone is brave enough to rip the ROM off of hardware and extract the firmware for analysis...
The problem is not copying the file to a different directory for Vista... That is a trivial change... The issue is being able to place the file in a directory that can be linked by the driver on both XP and Vista... I have some ideas and will be testing them over the next several days...

Just so I can make sure I understand you... what your saying is that: you shut down windows and the display turn off... but when the computer finishes shutdown (and the computer is then OFF) the display turns back ON (and displays a blank screen or The clock... depending on which hardware version it is). Is this correct?
If this is correct... The problem is caused by the driver, or by the iMON software... but by your USB hardware on your motherboard... The iMON LCD (both OEM and Ultrabay) are provided with standby power from your power supply... this means that they are on all the time (so that you can power on the computer with the remote control)... On some computers, when the computer is shut down, it sends a reset signal on the USB bus. This reset signal causes the LCD to reset, and the default behaviour is to turn on the display.
There are several things that you can do to try to resolve this...
1) make sure you have the latest USB drivers installed (especially important for motherboards wth USB controllers that are not supported natively by the microsoft drivers).
2) Check the BIOS settings for the USB controller... There may be power related settings there that may affect the spurious reset sent on shutdown (likely labeled "allow power management" or something similar)
3) connect the display to a floppy drive power connector instead of the standby power connector (but you will lose the ability to turn on the computer with the remote control)
4) Check the SoundGraph forums or contact SoundGraph Support for solutions to the problem (mostly unhelpfull... but you might get lucky 9-} )
There may be more things to check... but that's all I can think of right now.

The logs don't reveal anything out of the ordinary.... But they were not created with the "extensive logging" option...
Please run configure and enable "Extensive logging"... Then run MediaPortal and play the same song... As soon as the EQ display starts, the display will get VERY sluggish (one update of the screen every 5-10 seconds)... When the display crashes, shut down MediaPortal... Then post just the mediaportal.log file... Hopefully the extensive logging will reveal some more clues to the problem...
After that, you can disable the "Extensive logging" to get a usable display 8-}

NO_log_vfddll5_plugins: SG_VFD.DLL v5 in plugins directory not working
YES_log_vfddll3_plugins: SG_VFD.DLL v3 in plugins directory PERFECTLY WORKING
I have not your core.dll as it crash my MP, but I think it will be quickly included in MP standard code so thi will be no more necessary.
If you have any suggestion to have my VFD working with v5 dll, I would really apreciate it.

I didn't realized that the new driver fixed the MP crash, and yes EQ works fine here too. It's 10 minutes running and still working fine.
The only issue I have is that I need to put manually the SG_VFD.DLL v3 in the plugin directory. If we can sort out why it would be perfect for me and also feature complete...

Cybrmage you will not believe this,i've did another test with "extensive logging" but now after listening more songs the LCD still didn't crashed .I will make another try now.

I just got a PM from hwahrmann saying the addition to bassaudio.cs have been added to SVN...

Sorry I misunderstood your words then at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showpost.php?p=200071&postcount=330 when you sayd: "Ok... This is 100% incorrect!!! I run the VFD every day with v5.1.0.1201... It even works with the v6.2 beta."
In any case I stil need to figure out why using v3 it works everything, also graphic EQ and with v5 nothing...
