    Hi,

    Hi Morpheus,

I just tested the VideoFlickerFix branch on my htpc (AMD 5450). It seems like flickering is gone in this branch.

    Here it's not :

WIth the flicker fix branch I have (with HDTV .TS File, did not test with a "normal" video) :

    - A strange flicker at the very begining of the video
    - Audio not perfectly sync (not much but perciptible)
    - Some flicker from time to time, but very few

All those problems are not present in the dev branch, maybe just some lags when the video starts (I think it can be due to the file itself because it's recorded TV)

However, I noticed that the playback of BluRays is broken. It seems like something with the graphbuilding doesn't work anymore. The dev-branch at the beginning of this week still worked so it seems to have something to do with the changes you made regarding either the codec config or the BluRayMetadataExtractor as own plugin.

I would bet on the codec changes done yesterday. Btw (off topic I know), AVC codec settings is still not working for videos : it keeps using the Windows prefered codec.

    Cheers.

    Yohann.

Did you also use a matching MP2-Server compile?

I use it only in local PC here and it works fine.

I couldn't find the bug in the code, but as usual I can't debug the MP2-client in a virtual machine (only the server) due to missing DirectX capability. Could you please have a look at it?

    What it did is:
    [*]Open MP2-client
[*]Wait until it has connected to MP2-server
    [*]Go to the video section
    [*]Start a BluRay-iso

It tells me there is no player regitered for this - logs attached.

    Thanks a lot,
    Michael

    Hi Morhpeus,

at first I did not (stupid, sorry, but I always compiled debug builds and the link on by desktop was referencing the release build....).
Now I did, but the error is still there. Just tested with a fresh compile of the VideoFlickerFix Branch.

    AW: Video and sound syncronisation

I have just pushed a new version to the VideoFlickerFix branch. For me it solves the flicker on ATI, and it seems to work with smeulf's NVIDIA as well.

So give it a shot :)

That's very good for me :)

I've been watching HDTV since an hour without any problems.

The only issue I have seems to be related to my hardware : if I try to watch 2 HDTV at the same time (one in fullscreen and the other one in PiP), then I have both images slowing down, but the sound remains correct. As soon as I stop the PIP, the main video speed up, and finish to be synchronized with the sound.

And it does not happend with all HDTV channels, only DVB-T ones...

For the rest, the picture is perfect, the sound is synchronized, I have no glitches nor stutters.

Other confirmations are very welcome for both NVidia and ATI hardware.

    Cheers.

    Smeulf.

    Morpheus, I say :D ! :p

    Hi morpheus_xx,

Works flawless now on my laptop with NVIDIA graphic. However with jumping like 30mins further into movie, the movie plays a little, then hicksups, pixalation and then playback is fine again. Takes about 6-10 seconds to return to normal playback. Is the a codec issue or?

    Thanks for reporting back!

The issue you describe is a typical codec issue, you might check the used codec via graphstudio and change the preferance in the settings (I can recommend LAV video codec).

The flicker fix is not part of the DEV branch, I will set this topic to "resolved" now :)

Actually it is more often an issue with the source filter that doesn't provide correct output (video decoder just tries to decode the stream when it has not got all the information - like new segment, flush...).
