My question is about the MP I's over all usage. I have made the plung from GBPVR back to MP and are use to some of its interface. I'm use to pressing >| on my remote and jumping 1 minute. I press >> and it jumps 5 sec. Also play back automaticly jumped commercials. Is there some way that I can get these functions.

In MediaPortal Configuration (or tvserver configuration) you set up the comskip launcher plugin.
MediaPortal Configuration -> General -> Automatically skip commercials for videos with Comskip data available.
About the jumping, adjust the skip steps in
MediaPortal Configuration -> General -> Skip steps
the skipping is then done by clicking > (or <) until the amount of time you want to skip is displayed in the OSD.

Is the auto skipping supposed to work when watching through the "Recorded TV" part of mediaportal? Mine doesn't seem to work. Thanks.
no, it only works when you watch through the my videos section.
It works by locating the comskip file in the same folder as the video file, but if you use the "recorded tv" section then it can't locate the comskip file... to make that work we need to implement a way for the database to store the comskip data and pass that on...
This will happen in the future, but it is too big a change to the tv component to put in during a feature freeze.

so does this mean if I have multiple directories for My Videos then comskip.exe or the .xml must be in the same directory

Seidelin was right. Auto skip works when you are watching recorded tv
Yes, it does this, besides enabling the comskip plugin, you need to select in MP config\General "automatically skip commercials in video".
This is in newer svn, do not remember this in 0.2.3.0 release.
Works in "Recorded TV" too.
yeah, I noticed that today when I upgraded to 23/2/08 svn's. I am trying this tonight to see if successful through TVE3......
nope, dosen't look like it works for TV server installs. will keep testing though unless it is still not supported.
